Outfit: Vintage 70s Button Down and Black Zippered Mini Skirt

Image
There are pieces in my wardrobe that have been with me way longer than I thought. I guess in my mind college isn't that far away. Then I actually count the years since I thrifted this 70s pointy collar button down. (Hint: It was at least 7 or 8 years ago. Yikes.) Even if it sits in my closet a lot, it makes an appearance ever so often - usually paired with red, blue, or black - to make my day better with its bold, but not too crazy, print and fabulous ultra wide pointy collar.  This time I paired my much-loved button down with a black denim mini skirt, fleece-lined tights, and a pair of black lace-up oxford heels. Usually this shirt gets paired with some sort of solid skirt since it's so bold. Even if it's somewhat similar to past looks, it's almost like my outfits in general are a little different-looking when I'm blonde! The platinum blonde gives everything a little ice princess vibe. Especially when there's actually ice and snow on the ground. Sps...

Work Outfit: Navy Polka Dot Skirt, Purple Tie Neck Blouse, and Silver Oxfords

Image
Happy Wednesday to you! I'm happy to share another work outfit with you. I guess it's not traditional work wear but I wore it to the office. We have a pretty casual dress code. This purple top was a thrift find from a long while back. It has a kind of 70s feel to it and I love the color. The little neck tie absolutely has to be tied in a knot or it comes undone about 10,000 times a day though. I paired my purple blouse with more cool tones with my navy blue polka dot skirt and a pair of bright silver oxfords. My socks matched my top a little bit and that's a-okay with me! How has your week been going? Mine could be better but I'm hanging in there until the weekend. It's my sister's grad school graduation party and I'm looking forward to some good times. Other than that, nothing too exciting is going on in my life. Wish I could tell you a good story, but I have none to tell so please enjoy the pictures and tell me what you have planned for the wee...

80s Geometric Print Shirt, Black A-line Skirt, Bright Blue Tights, & Studded Loafers

Image
Here's a little bit of a crazy outfit for you. At least it's crazy in the color scheme and print. Mostly it's this silk 80s shirt I thrifted a long while back. I hadn't worn it yet this season so it needed to make an appearance. I decided to pair it with my black a-line skirt with the mesh cutout detail and a pair of new insanely blue tights. These tights were in Walmart clearance for $2.50 so they obviously needed to come home with me. They're such a cool, bright color! They were screaming to be paired with this obnoxiously printed shirt (that I love completely un-ironically). shirt: thrifted | skirt: forever 21 | tights: walmart | shoes: x-appeal - rack room shoes | hair bow: forever 21 I hope you guys are having a great Monday. I'm supposed to be on spring break right now but I'll be at work today. Yay. Also studying. But I'll be heading up north for a wedding soon so there's something to look forward to! Have a super fantastic sta...

Geometric 70s Shirt & Corduroy Shorts

Image
I know this shirt is 70s polyester gaudiness but I love it so much. I love the colors and the print and the super pointy collar. It also washes up easily compared to my thrifted silk shirts. This time I decided to play up the 70s-ness of the shirt by pairing it with brown corduroy shorts. (I would have gotten bonus points if they were bell bottoms.) vintage 70s shirt: thrifted | shorts: forever 21 | boots: thrifted | earrings: from a great aunt And then Matt was taking a suitcase out to the car so I posed on it like this. Pure seduction. Did you guys have a good week? I'm not sure I'm glad it's Friday since I have a lot of work to do this weekend (as usual). I'll get it done though! There's a Hop Harvest Festival at Terrapin Brewery on Saturday that I'm looking forward to so I need to get a lot done today. Work today, fun tomorrow. At least I hope so! Have a great Friday!

Polka Dot Dress + Purple Top = Disney Princess?

Image
Somebody told me I look like a Disney princess when I wore this outfit so that makes it a winner in my book. I thought it was about time I layered a blouse underneath this polka dot dress and here is the result. This purple top probably should have been ironed, but I love the pop of color it added to this outfit. top: thrifted | dress: forever 21 | shoes: croft & barrow - kohl's | bow: forever 21 I also have some double polka dots going on in this outfit. Why not? Somehow I can't stop myself from wearing this bow with every polka dotted thing I own. I'll leave you with a picture of me gracefully tripping. These pictures were taken last Monday after my awful super busy weekend, so I was really tired. That's my excuse. This picture is extra appropriate today because I spent all weekend studying for a midterm and I'm pretty sure this will be how I arrive back at my apartment after it's done. Happy Monday everyone!

Ariel Inspired Outfit: Purple Top, Green Shorts, & Very Red Hair

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Since I decided to sport some bright red hair for the end of summer, I figured it was only necessary to wear a very Little Mermaid-inspired outfit. These pictures were from the first day after dying my hair so it's super bright! It's not natural by any means, but it's fun. It'll be back to its normal red soon enough, so I'm really enjoying the change-up.  I think maybe my Ariel outfit was more apparent to me than to most other people. I was pretty sure people would be commenting on it (or pointing and laughing), but that wasn't the case. Mom and Jeanie saw the inspiration though! top: thrifted | shorts: forever 21 | shoes: boohoo How cool are these new shoes? I think they're so neat! They came with a warning to be careful not to spike yourself so they must be dangerously cool. I hope you had a good weekend. I had a family reunion to attend so my Saturday was busy. Yesterday I spent too much on Target cle...
