Outfit: White Sleeveless Shirt Dress, Gold Belt, & Snakeskin Flats

Image
Happy Monday everyone! This summery white cotton dress is the last piece online retailer Tobi sent me to style. It's a fantastic staple to have in my closet and I've already worn it a couple different ways. I do wish it was a little less easy to wrinkle but I guess that's what you get with cotton. The size I ordered (M) was just slightly too big for me too, so I had to watch my side bra area wasn't hanging out, (but it was remedied with a different bra on another wear.) Other than that, the dress has pockets and is lined to prevent any white cotton transparency issues! They even have it in black if you prefer that, but I think I have plenty of black dresses already. For this dress' first day out, I styled it with a stretchy gold belt that looks like gold coins. I thrifted the belt last year because I thought it was so neat and didn't wear it until yesterday! Do you ever do that? Sometimes you just have to buy things when you're thrifting even if yo...

Outfit: Rainbow Paint Splatter Dress with Yellow Wedge Sandals

Image
This was the first time I wore this paint splatter print dress and it was crazy how many positive comments I got on it! I guess it's a pretty unique pattern, which would be why I couldn't resist it. It was such an inexpensive purchase that I wasn't really expecting it to fit so well, but it's kind of perfect for my 4'11" body. Not too long in the torso, and short, but not obscenely short. It's still on sale, so if any of you other petite people are interested, it's there. For reference, I bought a size medium.  For its debut I styled it with some bright yellow wedges I picked up at Target on clearance a couple years back and a little red hair bow. It ended up a perfectly bright, spring-y outfit. (I actually wore this back on Easter so the pictures have been sitting on my computer for a while. Oops!) dress : shein | wedges: target | hair bow: forever 21 I threw in our little family picture above for good measure. Riker is a big boy now...

Work Outfit: White Shift Dress with Sheer Cutouts and Two-toned Flats

Image
Happy Monday! I picked up this shift dress from Boohoo.com a little while back and waited to wear it for some reason. I don't know why, because I love it! I don't have a lot of shift dresses so this one was a welcome addition to my wardrobe. I love the modern mesh cutouts with the classically shaped dress. It also has a texture that reminds me of a reptile print when you look at it up close. I'm sure I'll figure out plenty of ways to wear this white dress but I kept it pretty simple and a little retro for its first time out.  This hugely messy bouffant was a test to see if I could manage getting my hair up. It's long enough with a ton of bobby pins, but I'm still not very skilled at fixing my hair. I blame it on having a hairdresser mom who does my hair way better (and faster) than I ever could. Therefore I never had to learn how to fix mine. That's okay though. My strategy is to throw a giant bow on it. Try it. It helps! dress: boohoo | shoes:...

Outfit: White Sailor Dress, Silver Sandals, & Tortoiseshell Sunglasses

Image
Happy Friday everyone! This is what I wore to Athfest a few weeks ago. Matt and I stopped on campus on the way downtown to take some pictures. This spot is usually full of students but they're mostly gone for the summer. I've had a ton of classes in the building in these pictures. It's weird that I won't be back for school next fall, but I guess I'm already a Double Dawg so I don't need to get a third UGA degree. Anyway, I dressed for comfort in the humid heat with this white linen dress. It's super light and breezy with its empire waist. These silver sandals are one of my most comfortable pairs of shoes so they were perfect for a day of walking to and around downtown Athens. I brought along my red PepaLoves scalloped bag because it's big enough to hold my camera but isn't too cumbersome.  dress: forever 21 | sandals: solanze - shoe carnival | earrings: forever 21 | sunglasses: from a giveaway | bag c/o: pepaloves last year This dr...

White Dress with a Burgundy Leather Jacket & Leopard Print Tights

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I really loved wearing the outfit in this post. It's super autumnal! It was the first time I got to wear my new burgundy faux leather jacket. It was a steal at only $15 on the Forever 21 website so I had to buy it! I thought it looked perfect layered over this white dress and I'm sure it'll look great with a ton of other things this season. Weirdly, I didn't wear this dress at all over the summer but really enjoyed styling it for cooler weather. Something about white dresses and tights just works in my mind! dress: bailey blue - thrifted | jacket: forever 21 | tights: forever 21 | boots: traffic | belt: thrifted I had a nice day yesterday. Jeanie and I went to the Aaron Carter concert which was 90s-tastic and nostalgic. He sang "That's How I Beat Shaq" so my day was made. Afterward, we feasted on Steak n Shake. It was a great birthday present! Thanks Jeanie! This weekend I'll be heading home to visit with ...

White Polka Dot Dress & Yellow Wedges

Image
How is it Friday already? This week went by entirely too fast. I wore this polka dot dress on Sunday to hang out with some family friends. These fantastically yellow wedges are a recent Target purchase. I swear I always find the best shoes at Target. Mom spotted this pair for me though. They were on clearance for $7 so I had to buy them even though I have about a billion pairs of shoes. They were the only ones left and just happened to be my size. My justification is that I didn't have any yellow shoes yet. Can you ever really have too many shoes? Yeah I'm probably getting to that point... dress: forever 21 | wedges: merona - target | bow: forever 21 | earrings: an old gift perhaps? Did I mention how much I love this dress? I really need to wear it more often. It's definitely coming with me to visit Illinois next month.  Have a great Friday!

Remix Post: Brown Tweed Blazer

Image
Is this week over yet? There's so much work to do, but I wanted to update the blog! It's too late to do any real work right now anyway. I thought I'd throw together a remix post featuring my brown tweed blazer. I think I've had it since high school. Mom bought it for me from Kohls way back when. It's a really light jacket, but it's plenty warm enough over a sweater. Plus it's the only brown coat I have, so I tend to wear it with brown-toned outfits. (Just click the numbers to go to the original post if you're interested.) 1. 2. & 3. 4. 5. & 6.  7. I'm feeling a lot better than last week, but still not 100%. It's unfortunate because I have 50 billion projects to do this week. Somehow I'll try to get everything done without sinking into a deep schoolwork-related depression. I'm sure a bunch of you are feeling these same woes of the end of the semester.  Happy Monday ultra-night/Tuesday morn...

Sailing Away

Image
This is pretty much a perfect summer dress. It's white, linen, and has a loose shape so it's not sticking to me when it's fifty billion degrees. Plus it's a sailor dress and it doesn't get better than that! I wore it to my family reunion last summer and I'm still enjoying it. dress: forever 21 hat: h&m shoes: xhileration - target bracelet: great grandma collection I'll be going up to Illinois for some family visiting time this week. I'm mentally preparing myself for the 12-hour car ride. Luckily we usually get Mexican food from this delicious hole-in-the-wall place right when we get there so I'm looking forward to that. I just can't believe we're this far into the summer already. I'm not ready to start grad school yet! I need more quality time with the couch and Netflix. I know, I have a rough life. Happy Monday!

What a Long Week

Image
Seriously. This week has been so long. Finals will be nothing compared to all the crap I wrote within the past couple days. dress: elle ; kohls tights: forever 21 belt: ralph lauren; thrifted shoes: forever 21 bow: forever 21 These tights are so great. I'm sure I'll be wearing them quite a lot. I don't get the whole no white after summer thing. I enjoy how this white dress looks with my tights and blazer! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and week after. I had a fantastic week of no school and I ate a ton of tasty food. Dad's birthday feast was delicious too. You really can't go wrong with two feasts in one week. I'm off to Atlanta tonight for the SEC football championship. Maybe you'll see me marching on TV tomorrow? Go Dawgs! Happy Friday! (Finally!!)
