Trip to Roanoke, VA: The City

Here's a few more pictures from our trip up to Roanoke, VA over the summer. These were all taken downtown except for the first one which is the star on Mill Mountain. They used to make the star's lights orange in October, but I hear they don't do that anymore. So many memories...

I'm a big fan of what I call "pajama dresses," which are really just jersey knit skater dresses . They're comfortable enough to sleep in, yet can look 100% put-together if styled nicely. That's exactly what I did with this light blue dress California-based shop Tobi sent me to style. (Someone even asked me why I was dressed so nice at the dog park! I told them I just came from work, of course.) For the debut of my newest pajama dress, I added my silvery beaded Stella and Dot necklace and a pair of white block heel sandals from Forever 21. I actually bought the shoes back in December on sale and had to wait for it to warm up to finally wear them. Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. Don't Dream It

...be it! I love a good performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. We went to see the live shadow cast Lips Down on Dixie perform at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta. It was awesome, as always! This is Jeanie and her friend Leslie before they got their lipstick Rocky virgin V's on their foreheads. Leslie even got the honor of holding the criminologist's book during a part of the show. Pretty ballin'. Butt shot! Yes, those are heels I have on with leopard print pajamas. It was a take on Columbia in the touch-a touch me scene. The real pj's are stripes, but this is what I had! I did have the mickey ears and crazy makeup though, so it counts. [How fun would it be to wear one of those costumes for Halloween?] I always enjoy this show.
