Outfit: Blue Abstract Floral Print 80s Dress and Two-toned Flats

Image
I wore this magnificent 80s dress to the Mother Mother concert last month because it was time the wonders of this dress were seen by the public again. It was my 23rd birthday dress (back when my hair was super long) and I can't believe it's been that long since I put it back on! This time I styled it for warm weather with just a pair of black and white flats and a skinny white belt. I found this dress at Saver's two years ago and it seriously fits like it was made for me. It still has its shoulder pads so my top half can look a little burly from some angles, but I love it. I'm a fan and I don't care who knows it! What about you? Do you rock any 80s vintage pieces? dress: saver's | shoes: steve madden - shoe carnival | bow, earrings: forever 21 | belt: modcloth Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I have a super exciting eye doctor appointment and other than that I'm waiting to see what happens the rest of the weekend. So let me live v...

80s Geometric Print Shirt, Black A-line Skirt, Bright Blue Tights, & Studded Loafers

Here's a little bit of a crazy outfit for you. At least it's crazy in the color scheme and print. Mostly it's this silk 80s shirt I thrifted a long while back. I hadn't worn it yet this season so it needed to make an appearance. I decided to pair it with my black a-line skirt with the mesh cutout detail and a pair of new insanely blue tights. These tights were in Walmart clearance for $2.50 so they obviously needed to come home with me. They're such a cool, bright color! They were screaming to be paired with this obnoxiously printed shirt (that I love completely un-ironically). shirt: thrifted | skirt: forever 21 | tights: walmart | shoes: x-appeal - rack room shoes | hair bow: forever 21 I hope you guys are having a great Monday. I'm supposed to be on spring break right now but I'll be at work today. Yay. Also studying. But I'll be heading up north for a wedding soon so there's something to look forward to! Have a super fantastic sta...

Halloween Costume 2013: 80s Aerobics Instructor

Image
Here it is: my 80s aerobics instructor costume! This was a really easy costume to put together and it was actually quite comfy. The only difficulty came when I was downtown and had to use the bathroom. Onesie problems. Isn't it always awkward to be practically naked while in the stall? That can't just be me. But anyway... The leotard was a vintage find at Savers over the summer. I knew this had to be my costume this year since I stumbled upon the leotard's striped glory. I just added a pair of colorful tights, a stretchy headband, and these strange-colored legwarmers I got as a gag gift. I definitely didn't realize that all my tights have that slight band on the upper thigh until yesterday though. This much of my tights doesn't usually show! Oh well. leotard: thrifted - savers | tights: kmart | legwarmers: christmas gag gift? | shoes: keds My strong, athletic pose is the best pose for this awesomely unflattering costume! My white keds somehow en...

My Birthday Outfit: Vintage 80s Dress & Polka Dot Tights

I always like to wear a completely new piece of clothing on my birthday each year. It feels good to save the first time I wear a dress for a special day! This dress was thrifted in July when we were visiting Illinois so it has been waiting in my closet for its debut for a while. When I tried it on, I couldn't leave it because it fit like it was made for me. Plus I love a good 80s dress. I seriously should have been my age in the 80s. I love the big hair and the fun, often garish clothing style. This dress isn't too 80s-tastic for normal wear which is another reason why I love it so much. It also has pockets which makes it extra perfect. Sure, the shoulder pads are definitely 80s, but it's not too much. Plus I modernized the styling a little bit by adding another print and swapping out the matching belt. It was a great birthday outfit and 100% me. dress: vintage 80s - savers | tights: kmart | heels: daisy fuentes | belt: thrifted | earrings: hand-me-downs from Mom | l...
