My Birthday Outfit: Vintage 80s Dress & Polka Dot Tights

I always like to wear a completely new piece of clothing on my birthday each year. It feels good to save the first time I wear a dress for a special day! This dress was thrifted in July when we were visiting Illinois so it has been waiting in my closet for its debut for a while. When I tried it on, I couldn't leave it because it fit like it was made for me. Plus I love a good 80s dress. I seriously should have been my age in the 80s. I love the big hair and the fun, often garish clothing style. This dress isn't too 80s-tastic for normal wear which is another reason why I love it so much. It also has pockets which makes it extra perfect. Sure, the shoulder pads are definitely 80s, but it's not too much. Plus I modernized the styling a little bit by adding another print and swapping out the matching belt. It was a great birthday outfit and 100% me.

dress: vintage 80s - savers | tights: kmart | heels: daisy fuentes | belt: thrifted | earrings: hand-me-downs from Mom |
lipstick: occ lip tar - queen | nails: china glaze

My birthday on Monday was really nice. Even though I had to go to class, I had a super tasty dinner with my family afterward. Then I had cake and pumpkin lambic. There was so much deliciousness. I added a few things to my makeup collection this birthday too. A lot of it I bought as gifts to myself, but Matt also bought me the Sigma Creme de Couture palette that I asked for. He's the best. I also got a new phone from my parents, so now I have one that works correctly again! It's glorious. Jeanie bought us tickets to Aaron Carter and a new book to read. All in all it was a good, low-key birthday.

I hope you guys are having a good week so far! Happy Wednesday!

I like how you modernized the dress! To me, it doesn't seem too inconceivable that it could have come from Modcloth or a similar type of shop!

Ohhh, Jamie, I'm so glad that your birthday was excellent--it must be hard to have classes on your birthday, but that's nice that youwere still able to dine with your parents. And how cute are you?? I'm pretty sure polka dots are your signature pattern. Those tights are precious beyond words. :D
