When will it be nice spring weather outside? It's been so gloomy and cold here in Georgia so I guess it's still relevant to show you a wintry almost all black outfit. I don't always wear a lot of color! I wore this for shopping and food with Matt at Ponce City Market a while back. The only new piece here is this black button down shirt with silver stars. I picked it up on sale because I figured it was just different enough while also being super wearable for work. I styled my new top with a pair of faux backseam tights, old old high waisted corduroy shorts from college, and silver oxford shoes from Target. This was one of my favorite recent outfits. (I definitely wore this exact same thing more than once because I wanted to get a picture of it.) I'm not sure if it's because of all the matchy nude/maroon going on throughout the pieces or what, but I enjoyed it. I bought these Lucite heel nude boots for myself as a birthday gift back in October and this is probably my favorite way to wear them - with no tights and a cute skirt. I've found they work best that way since I haven't found a colored pair of tights that really looks right with them. If you have suggestions, please let me know! There are pieces in my wardrobe that have been with me way longer than I thought. I guess in my mind college isn't that far away. Then I actually count the years since I thrifted this 70s pointy collar button down. (Hint: It was at least 7 or 8 years ago. Yikes.) Even if it sits in my closet a lot, it makes an appearance ever so often - usually paired with red, blue, or black - to make my day better with its bold, but not too crazy, print and fabulous ultra wide pointy collar.  This time I paired my much-loved button down with a black denim mini skirt, fleece-lined tights, and a pair of black lace-up oxford heels. Usually this shirt gets paired with some sort of solid skirt since it's so bold. Even if it's somewhat similar to past looks, it's almost like my outfits in general are a little different-looking when I'm blonde! The platinum blonde gives everything a little ice princess vibe. Good morning (or afternoon or evening) to you! In my vacation picture editing extravaganza that happened last week, I found yet another set of pictures that would make a perfect outfit post. These pictures were taken at Windmill Bonne Chiere in the morning of our last day in Bruges, Belgium. I made seeing at least one windmill a priority on this trip since I'd missed out on them the first time I went to Bruges when I was a kid. After the tourists in the back of some of these photos left, Matt and I had the windmill all to ourselves so we could climb up on the stairs and get some fun pictures while taking in the view. (Sorry no pictures taken from up there. I wasn't about to drop and break my camera in the middle of our trip. Those stairs were steep!) This windmill is an open trestle post mill . I've had this chambray overall dress for quite a few years now, but finally had the straps taken up so I didn't have to safety pin them shorter anymore. I enjoy a good overall even if it can look a little twee. I usually get plenty of positive comments on this pinafore dress though so I guess I'm not too old to rock one.  This entire outfit takes me back to childhood because I'm pretty sure I wore a red shirt, overalls, and white shoes combination when I was a little kid. (I wish I could dig up the picture to compare.) It's a pretty solid combination if I do say so myself. So solid I wore it the other day and was very pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the outfit. What do you think? Happy Wednesday to you! I'm happy to share another work outfit with you. I guess it's not traditional work wear but I wore it to the office. We have a pretty casual dress code. This purple top was a thrift find from a long while back. It has a kind of 70s feel to it and I love the color. The little neck tie absolutely has to be tied in a knot or it comes undone about 10,000 times a day though. I paired my purple blouse with more cool tones with my navy blue polka dot skirt and a pair of bright silver oxfords. My socks matched my top a little bit and that's a-okay with me! How has your week been going? Mine could be better but I'm hanging in there until the weekend. It's my sister's grad school graduation party and I'm looking forward to some good times. Other than that, nothing too exciting is going on in my life. I actually wore this to work on a more casual day but it's something I'd wear any day. This olive green sweater is one of my favorites for this time of the year. The v-neck and thin knit makes it great for layering over my many button down tops. This time I put it over a floral print button down crop top because it complimented the green shades in the floral print. Then I added my faux leather pleated skirt and cutout ankle boots. Happy Wednesday and happy almost Thanksgiving to all my American friends. It's been a little while since I shared a work outfit now that it gets dark before I get home, but here's one I managed to capture before daylight savings time ended. These wide legged floral pants can be dressed up or down, which is good because they feel like pajamas and being pajama comfy at work is great. This time I styled them with a button down shirt to make them more work appropriate. I had some chunky heels on with this too, but you can't see them because of the grass. (Oops!)  I enjoyed the way my army green shirt looked with the muted florals on the pants. I tend to wear these army green and olive green shades during this time of year. They can act as neutrals just like navy blue. I think it's pretty great to wear a color as a neutral! There's something I look forward to styling each fall: tights and shorts. Tights and shorts are kind of a perfect combination for Georgia's extremely mild fall weather. Plus you get the added bonus of wearing fun patterns and colors on your legs while still showing off your legs. I know these are plain black tights here, but you understand.  I wanted to go for the black and brown color scheme here too. It's something I really enjoy when others pull it off. Neutrals paired together can look so nice and modern, so I paired my brown corduroy shorts with some black tights, a black floral top, and black leather jacket. The mix of texture and pattern makes it work, along with not combining too many different shades of brown in this one outfit. What do you think? Are you a fan of shorts paired with tights too? Happy Halloween! You know I enjoy dressing in slightly themed clothes right around different holidays so here's one I wore to work this week. I don't get very many opportunities to wear my various Halloween earrings so I have to start with the Halloween-y outfits earlier than the day-of. This outfit featured my candy corn earrings, along with an orange silk blouse I thrifted recently layered underneath a sleeveless striped dress. I finished everything off with plain black tights and my cutout ankle boots. These boots always feel kind of witch-y to me so they're perfect for Halloween-inspired outfits.
