Outfit: Concert Tee, Black Denim Mini Skirt, Pink Tights, and White Converse

Image
Here I am wearing a concert t-shirt again. At this point I'm not sure I'll ever stop wearing them. Maybe when I'm 70 I won't wear them with bright pink tights and white wedge Converse, but really, who knows? Maybe we'll all be dressing like Zenon : Girl of the 21st Century by then. (I can only hope.) And if I really take a look at this outfit, all I need is a colorful vest and I may as well have come off the space station. They really liked vests in that movie. I guess they don't need sleeves when everything's climate controlled? It is, however, not climate controlled outside in Atlanta. These pictures are from a couple months ago but it still hasn't reliably warmed up here yet. Also, my hair is now completely different since I had it chopped off again into an asymmetrical pixie a couple weeks ago. Remix: Styling a Graphic T-shirt for Cool Weather

Image
If you're a frequent reader of my blog you know I wear my collection of graphic t-shirts fairly often and year round. They're comfy while adding extra pattern and color to an outfit. Do you have a concert t-shirt lying around that you've only ever worn with jeans? It can be worn so many other ways! Let me help you expand your t-shirt style options! A little while back I showcased some cute ways to wear graphic tees during the summer . Now here are some ways I've styled my t-shirts when it's cool outside!  one | two | three One of my favorite casual outfit equations is shorts + t-shirt + tights (+ sometimes cardigan). Even though it's too cold for bare legs, shorts are still an option if tights are layered underneath. I also tend to swap out the shorts for a mini skirt of some sort. All of these looks, except number four, feature shorts or skirts simply because I own a lot of those pieces.  There's a way to make jeans and a t-shirt look more in...

Remix: Graphic T-shirts Styled for Warm Weather

Image
Happy Friday everyone! Graphic t-shirts are staple pieces in my wardrobe because they're comfortable and can be worn in plenty of different ways. Since I have about a billion outfit photos of me styling various graphic tees, I thought it was time I compiled those to give you some inspiration. These are all outfits worn in warm weather. There may be less variety in the ways I can make a t-shirt look cute when it's hot outside, but I think I've come up with a few standby pairings. For ultra ease (with style) you can pair a graphic t-shirt with some high-waisted denim shorts or jeans. My favorite way to wear a t-shirt in the summer is with a skirt though. Almost any skirt can look good with a t-shirt. There are just so many different t-shirt colors that pretty much any skirt you own could find its t-shirt match. I prefer to stick with more fitted t-shirts or else I run the risk of looking like a frump, which is never a good thing. Take a look below and see if you're ins...

A B-52's Concert Shirt, Red Skirt, & Gold Loafers

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Yep, this is another red and blue outfit. You could definitely say this is a favorite color combination of mine. This concert t-shirt is one of my favorites because of its bold primary colors and fun design. It looks particularly perfect with a red skirt. Of course my sparkly gold loafers had to make an appearance again. If you're going bold, you might as well go all out. At least that's usually how outfits work in my world.  top: from a b-52's concert | skirt: thrifted | shoes: xhileration - target | bow: gift | sunglasses: kohl's | earrings: charming charlie When I edited these pictures I realized my nails matched my shirt. Outfit win. I've been trying to catch up with your blogs and commenting and all that good blog community stuff. I'm sorry I'm way behind! I kind of dedicated this week to getting my crap together for my epic spring internship search. Then I have ten thousand pounds of school work loomin...

Vintage Blue Oyster Cult T-shirt and a Pleated Plaid Skirt

Image
This Blue Oyster Cult shirt is one of my favorite t-shirts. (Dad's old concert t-shirts are some of the best I own.) It's way cooler than I am so when I put it on it instantly increases my cool factor. Especially when paired with a plaid skirt that may or may not have been a child's school uniform. Am I right, or am I right? I try to limit the frequency that I wear my vintage t-shirts because I don't want them to get over-washed and threadbare. They have to live forever! Yeah I know that won't happen, but this one is in good shape so I expect it to be around for a couple more decades. Anyway, this outfit is about as cool as it gets for me. I liked it a lot! t-shirt: vintage from Dad | plaid skirt: thrifted | shoes: solanze - shoe carnival | stud earrings, silver ring, hair bow: forever 21 | blue stone ring: old from the great grandma collection I had a messy messy bouffant that day...Oh well! I threw a bow on it, so it was okay. That's how it work...

Pink Tights, Polka Dot Shorts, & A Yellow Cardigan

Image
I really liked this outfit! I think I've been missing wearing tights with shorts. This outfit is from Monday and it was a little too hot for my new pink tights once mid-afternoon hit, but oh well! I loved the combination of pink and yellow too. These polka dot shorts will definitely be worn many more times this fall now that I know how great they can look with tights. shorts, belt, earrings: forever 21 | cardigan: mossimo - target | flats: xhileration - target | tights: kmart | t-shirt: Saddle-creek.com I'm wearing my The Good Life shirt again, as you can see! It was sitting in my drawer for so long. It really needed to be worn. These shoes are so ratty. I'm sorry. They're my comfy shoes. I also wear them if there's rain in the forecast because they were super cheap and they're made of some sort of plastic. Then I won't be sad if I ruin a pair of shoes. They don't look so bad from afar? That's my excuse. This is pr...

Vintage Concert Shirt, Leopard Print Skirt, & Patent Leather 60's Flats

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I was feeling like wearing leopard print today (when am I not feeling like that?) and realized I don't have a leopard print skirt here. Then I saw my high-low dress from Target that I wore in this post and figured I could just wear it as a skirt! And so this outfit was born. A mix of leopard print, an old Rainbow concert t-shirt, and my 60's patent leather bow flats. dress worn as skirt: xhileration - target | t-shirt: old concert shirt from Dad | cardigan: so... - kohls | shoes: vintage - thrifted | belt: thrifted | earrings: charming charlie | hair bow: h&m Well I hope everyone has a great weekend if I don't return, but I'll probably update because Sunday is my birthday! Wooo me! Woo birthday! Actually I'm pretty sure I'm not doing much, but I may go downtown tomorrow night and party it up and I'm definitely doing dinner with the family on Sunday which should be delicious. It's not as exciting o...

Casual Band T-shirt & Skirt Times

Image
This week has been rough and it's not even over. I've been neglecting blog stuff because there's been so much stuff due for my classes. Today I had two papers and a presentation due for my seminar class. Also there's been at least four nights this week that I've had less than 4 hours of sleep so there's that. I'll get a somewhat break after my Monday classes though. Woo. Plus I'm going to the Terrapin Hop Harvest Festival tomorrow afternoon so that'll be a good break! Here's what I wore today. Just a concert t-shirt and my brown houndstooth skirt. I've had zero outfit inspiration lately. It's still pretty much too hot for layers. I had a ridiculous smug face type of expression in all of the pictures from today, so here's the least smug faced one there was. Ughhh. Next time I'll make a better face. I promise. skirt, cardigan, earrings: forever 21 | t-shirt: from a concert | shoes: xhileration - target | belt: thrifted ...

Peplum Skirt and a Band T-Shirt

Image
Why hello and Happy Monday! I would be more inclined to call it a feeling overwhelmed type of Monday though. School is getting to be a lot and I really won't be sad when this semester is over. Anyway, it looked like rain all day today but I never got rained on. I, for whatever reason, tend to wear these oxford shoes I got from Forever 21 when it's rainy. Maybe because it doesn't really matter if they get messed up. Although if they did I would miss them because they sure are a trusty pair of shoes! I also decided to wear my peplum skirt because peplums are all cool now. I've had this one in my closet for a long time. Since back when Forever 21 actually had a clearance section. I don't wear it a lot because it's big in the waist. I just makeshift pinned in the waist for today! skirt, shoes, hair bow: forever 21 | t-shirt: american apparel - saddle-creek.com | cardigan: so... - kohls Hey look at this here peplum! Hodgson's, Ice Cream, & High School Inspiration

Image
Hello! I can't believe it's already Wednesday again. I actually got out of the apartment today though even though I haven't done any of the reading I need to get done for Friday. Oops. Jeanie and I went to a local pharmacy up the street called Hodgson's for some $1 ice cream. It was delicious and we got to take pictures with the colorful bulldog statue outside. They have these bulldogs all over Athens. They're all decorated in different ways and most of them are so cute. How can a bulldog not be cute? This one is by Hodgson's and a local coffee chain called Jittery Joe's hence the coffee mug decoration. We enjoyed our delicious peanut butter cup ice cream. It probably wasn't necessary after our dinner of wings last night, but it was worth the short walk! I've been feeling some really weird nostalgia for things I liked in early high school, so I figured I'd wear an outfit inspired by those days! I was pretty much always in t-shir...
