Outfit: Nude Lucite Heel Boots with a Floral Blouse and Maroon Skater Skirt

Image
This was one of my favorite recent outfits. (I definitely wore this exact same thing more than once because I wanted to get a picture of it.) I'm not sure if it's because of all the matchy nude/maroon going on throughout the pieces or what, but I enjoyed it. I bought these Lucite heel nude boots for myself as a birthday gift back in October and this is probably my favorite way to wear them - with no tights and a cute skirt. I've found they work best that way since I haven't found a colored pair of tights that really looks right with them. If you have suggestions, please let me know! Anyway, I paired them with my much loved maroon skater skirt (probably one of the most-worn pieces in my wardrobe) and a floral long sleeved shirt.  skirt: h&m | top: forever 21 | shoes: steve madden - dsw SO how has your February been so far? Matt and I have been enjoying our quiet weekends at home and are looking forward to some fun outings we have planned this month. ...

Outfit: Yellow Top, Orange Red Floral Skirt, and Fringe Sandals

Image
I feel like I have a different hair color in every new post here! I've been having fun trying out new non-red hair colors these past few months. These pictures were taken right after I had my hair done so it was very freshly toned with purple toner to make it nice and cool-toned. I enjoyed the way it contrasted with my warm-toned outfit. Now my hair is pink though - so head over to Instagram to see that!  Now on to the outfit: Most of these pieces have been seen on the blog before minus my new-ish brown fringe sandals I bought off of Amazon for $10. They're really comfortable too! I styled them with a top I got on clearance at Target and a handmade floral print pleated skirt. top: target | skirt: handmade | shoes: amazon I've been absent a little while since I was away on vacation in Las Vegas and have also been working a lot prior to that. Las Vegas was awesome and my bachelorette party was a ton of fun, including seeing Thunder From Down Under again, eat...

Outfit: I'm Back in Florals!

Image
Guess who's back? Back again? Jamie's back. Tell a friend. Now you have that song stuck in your head. You're welcome. And also if you're reading this, thank you for sticking around or at least having my blog still in your blog feeder! It's been a while but I'm certainly ready to get back into blogging mode now that I'm all moved into a new apartment and am mostly unpacked and settled. I no longer have to drive 3 hours a day but work is keeping me very busy right now so I haven't quite reclaimed my normal amount of free time. dress: xhileration - target | shoes: merona - target | earrings: old hand-me-downs Now moving on to some outfit talk! Everything I'm wearing here except the earrings is relatively new. My shoes were a February Target sale buy and I've been wearing them the most out of any of my shoes lately. (Hooray for comfy shoes that go with everything!) The black floral dress was an impulse buy during my last Target ...

Work Outfit: Blue Floral Curved Hem Shift Dress with Nude Peeptoe Heels

Image
This vibrant blue floral shift dress is a new purchase from Boohoo that I picked up during a 50% off sale. When it got here I was worried it was way too loose but it ended up looking great once styled. Plus a loose fit is a comfy change from my usual fit and flare silhouette. Sometimes it's nice to change things up and try new shapes! The more I look at the pictures of this outfit, the more I want to wear it immediately again.  How should I style this dress next time? I'm sure it could be belted but the loose shift style is something I'm feeling lately. Maybe black tights and boots when it cools down? dress: boohoo | shoes: x-appeal - rack room shoes | necklace: forever 21 How has your weekend been? We're hanging out watching the Olympics right now and spent a good portion of today working on planning costumes for Dragon Con. Yesterday was my sister's birthday so we went to a brewery and had a delicious dinner afterward. If you follow me on Insta...

Outfit: Hot Pink Laser Cut Crop Top, White Skinny Jeans, and Floral Wedges

Image
I don't think you can go wrong with a good crop top and high waisted jeans combination when it's warm outside, although it may have been a bit toasty for jeans when I wore this. I picked up these bright white skinny jeans from Boohoo recently. They're labeled as mid rise, but they're most definitely high rise on my body and on the picture online. If you're going to pick up a pair, I might recommend sizing down because they're extra stretchy which means they're extra comfy but might fall down a little without a belt. Anyway, when Tobi sent me this hot pink crop top I knew it would pair perfectly with my new white jeans. Hot pink and white is just a winning color combination! Very Legally Blonde - except I have red hair. I don't own nearly enough pink clothing so I was super pumped to get this top with its fantastic laser cutout sleeves. It's a perfect cropped length on me and a sturdy material with a zip down the back. Bonus: It's on clea...

Work Outfit: Digital Floral Blouse, Brown Suede Skirt, Green Tights, and Clogs

Image
It's been way too long since I shared a work outfit with you guys. It just wasn't an option when the sun was setting so soon after getting home, but now that spring is here I'll have some more of these for you. This was a favorite outfit this past month - probably because of the mix of color, ruffles on the blouse, and the thrifted suede skirt I borrowed from my sister's closet back home. (She wasn't using it if it wasn't at school with her, after all.) Brown suede can be such a nice option for a chilly spring day and I loved how this skirt looked with my trusty brown clogs and the forest green tights. What do you think? skirt: thrifted | blouse, tights: forever 21 | clogs: korks - shoe carnival | sunglasses: delia's How was your Monday? I spent my time after work hanging on the couch, eating pizza and watching makeup YouTubers. When Matt's away for work I get to watch whatever I want the entire evening so of course I caught up on makeup tu...

Outfit: Floral and Bow Print Dress, Teal Cardigan, Blue Flats, and Retro Hair

Image
Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate! I wanted to post a particularly spring-y outfit to mark such a spring-tastic holiday. I wore this floral and bow print Pepaloves dress to work just the other day. It's one of those dresses I really love but don't wear super often. Maybe it's because it seems so memorable people might notice if I wore it all the time? Or maybe I just need to find more cropped cardigans so I can wear it with more colors. A nice pink one would be good... Anyway, I paired it with my teal cropped cardigan from Delia's (which is really the perfect cropped cardigan for me) and my pointed royal blue flats. I've been putting my hair up again more often so it's in this slightly messy bouffant with flower hair clips to match the dress. It's funny how I was pretty decent at getting my hair in a bouffant before I cut my hair super short two years ago. Then once it grew out again I had to relearn. There were a couple mornings I spent ...

Outfit: Daisy Print Skort Romper, Black Leather Jacket, and Cutout Boots

Image
I thrifted this daisy print romper a couple years back and don't wear it nearly often enough. Everyone always thinks it's a dress because of the skort front, but then surprise - it's shorts! That definitely makes it a perfect piece for bopping around town on a windy day. I styled it for cool weather with a pair of basic black tights, my trusty faux leather jacket, and some cutout boot-flat hybrid shoes from Boohoo.  I probably could style this romper with some colorful tights or a bright cardigan next time. I'm trying to think of some new ways to wear it but sometimes it's just nice to wear it on its own with some sandals. Though that'll have to wait until the weather warms up, which should be right around the corner here in Georgia. You wouldn't know it looking outside today! It's been raining all week.  jacket: ashley by twenty-six international - ross | romper: thrifted | shoes: boohoo | sunglasses: c/o boohoo How has your week been?...

Outfit: Olive Green Sweater over a Floral Top, Pleated Leather Skirt, and Cutout Boots

Image
Happy happy Monday to you! I hope you had a fantastic weekend but now it's time to get back to reality. Luckily I have an outfit post to slightly brighten your day - I hope? I actually wore this to work on a more casual day but it's something I'd wear any day. This olive green sweater is one of my favorites for this time of the year. The v-neck and thin knit makes it great for layering over my many button down tops. This time I put it over a floral print button down crop top because it complimented the green shades in the floral print. Then I added my faux leather pleated skirt and cutout ankle boots. Matt took these pictures for me while we were out walking Riker after work. Sadly it gets dark by the time we're home from work now and Riker has to walk around in the dark. I'll have to give you a Riker pupdate sometime soon. He just keeps growing! sweater: target | floral shirt: h&m | skirt: forever 21 | boots: boohoo So did you have a good wee...

Work Outfit: Wide Legged Floral Trousers with an Army Green Button Down

Image
Happy Wednesday and happy almost Thanksgiving to all my American friends. It's been a little while since I shared a work outfit now that it gets dark before I get home, but here's one I managed to capture before daylight savings time ended. These wide legged floral pants can be dressed up or down, which is good because they feel like pajamas and being pajama comfy at work is great. This time I styled them with a button down shirt to make them more work appropriate. I had some chunky heels on with this too, but you can't see them because of the grass. (Oops!)  I enjoyed the way my army green shirt looked with the muted florals on the pants. I tend to wear these army green and olive green shades during this time of year. They can act as neutrals just like navy blue. I think it's pretty great to wear a color as a neutral! P.S. - Sorry for the lack of pictures here but the lighting really wasn't on my side.  top: new york & company | pants, earri...
