Outfit: Futurama Tank Top, Mustard Cardigan, Corduroy Shorts, and Red Tights

Image
I don't own nearly enough Futurama clothing or accessories for it being my absolute favorite TV show of all time. So when I saw this Planet Express tank top on Look Human, I had to have it. First of all, it's super comfy and can be worn for lounging or actual leaving-the-house activities. Second, it shrunk to the perfect size after washing. You can probably tell here that the straps were too long the first time I wore it. I'm glad I threw it through the dryer before taking them up because it's an 100% perfect fit now. For its first day out I paired it with some bright colors: my mustard yellow cardigan and a pair of bold red tights. The brights were balanced out by my black corduroy shorts and a pair of patent mary jane flats from Modcloth. Just a comfortable weekend outfit and a welcome reunion with these high-waisted shorts I hadn't worn in much too long. I love getting back in my comfy high-waisted shorts that I used to wear so often back in college...

Outfit: High Waisted Bell Bottoms, Donut Print T-shirt, and a Black Leather Jacket

Image
Even though a lot of style bloggers never show outfits with jeans, I think it's possible to put together an interesting, share-worthy outfit with them. These dark wash, high-waisted bell bottom jeans were ordered from OldNavy.com about a year ago and unfortunately they don't carry them anymore. If you're very short, it's 100% necessary to buy petite bell bottoms or else you cut off most of the bell part hemming them. These were a perfect find for me and I wear them pretty often, especially to work with various blouses. I should've bought two pairs they're so perfect! This was a casual weekend outfit though. I like the updated 70s vibes going on. I styled my jeans with a donut print graphic t-shirt (which was a Secret Santa gift), my incredibly useful faux leather jacket, comfy wedge boots, and a pair of gold hoop earrings.  What do you think? Have you found any petite bell bottoms lately? I think they're a nice way to switch things up in the deni...

Outfit: Houndstooth Shorts, Glitter Back Seam Tights, and a Bow Print Shirt

Image
There's just something about houndstooth that really appeals to me. Maybe it's the versatile black and white print or that it looks so perfect paired with red, which is one of my favorite colors to wear. Either way, I keep collecting houndstooth pieces! I bought these houndstooth shorts a year or so ago. I remember trying on a pair but not finding my size in store so I ordered what I assumed would be my size online and they were perfect. Isn't it great when that happens? I'd been missing wearing shorts with tights this season, so here I am again in a shorts and tights outfit. I paired the shorts with my glittery faux back seam tights, a comfy graphic tee with a striped red bow on it, studded black loafers, and my trusty leather jacket. There's a lot of red, white, and black going on here - a favorite color combination of mine in winter even though it's not quite winter yet. jacket: ashley by twenty-six international - ross | top, shorts, tights: fo...

Outfit: Burgundy Leather Jacket, Green Skinny Jeans, and a Star Trek Tee

Image
The weekend is almost over but that doesn't mean I can't show you a weekend outfit from a couple weeks ago! These pictures were taken right when we got our first true taste of fall weather so I threw on some boots, jeans, and a leather jacket while roaming around the neighborhood. It was kind of muggy so I ended up too hot for the jacket halfway down the BeltLine, but I enjoyed how the burgundy color looked with my green jeans while it lasted. This whole look is pretty simple but the interesting color combination, touch of pattern from the umbrella, and fun Star Trek graphic t-shirt make it something worth posting on a style blog. At least I think so!  How do you make a t-shirt and jeans more exciting? Not that it always has to be exciting. I've been enjoying wearing high-waisted jeans (both skinny and bell bottoms) with v-neck t-shirts, and leather jackets lately. Sometimes it's just a jeans and a t-shirt kind of day! top, jacket: forever 21 | jeans: new yo...

Outfit: Star Trek Ship Tank Top, Blue Skater Skirt, and Silver Heels

Image
Here's a little fun weekend outfit for you today! I picked up some clearance stuff on Forever21.com a while back and magically everything I bought looked good together. I just couldn't resist these 90s-tastic silver heels. They remind me of the Spice Girls. I definitely need to get some more wear out of these shoes before it's tights weather. Living in Georgia, that'll be a while longer, so I guess that's one positive thing about fall taking so terribly long to arrive (and stay). I also couldn't resist picking up another Star Trek muscle tee. It has all of the different star ships from various Star Trek series and shirts like this are so comfy. They perfectly shift over to loungewear after a long day! The blue textured skater skirt is new too. Can you really ever have too many skater skirts? Speaking of new-to-my-wardrobe clothes, I really need to go thrifting again soon. Then again, pulling out all my cool-weather clothes is like Christmas to me. I have s...

Outfit: Elephant Graphic Tank Top, Dotted Denim Skirt, Silver Sandals, & Red Sunglasses

Image
I'm just now getting to pictures from Fourth of July weekend but I'm really excited to share them! It's nice to have something different to show you. Matt and I took a short trip down to the very southernmost coast of Georgia to a town called St. Mary's and bopped around for about a day total. These photos were taken the first evening on the shore near its little downtown area.  This is what I wore in the car for hours so it had to be a super comfy outfit but still cute enough to wear around all day. I went with my new elephant graphic tank top I got at the Mother Mother concert and a light denim polka dot skirt. I wore my trusty silver sandals the entire trip - even on Cumberland Island - and they may have gotten a little dirty and gross. I still need to deep clean them somehow but I think they've definitely seen better days and there's no turning back. That's disappointing because they're probably the most comfortable sandals I own! Do you ever...

Remix: Styling a Graphic T-shirt for Cool Weather

Image
If you're a frequent reader of my blog you know I wear my collection of graphic t-shirts fairly often and year round. They're comfy while adding extra pattern and color to an outfit. Do you have a concert t-shirt lying around that you've only ever worn with jeans? It can be worn so many other ways! Let me help you expand your t-shirt style options! A little while back I showcased some cute ways to wear graphic tees during the summer . Now here are some ways I've styled my t-shirts when it's cool outside!  one | two | three One of my favorite casual outfit equations is shorts + t-shirt + tights (+ sometimes cardigan). Even though it's too cold for bare legs, shorts are still an option if tights are layered underneath. I also tend to swap out the shorts for a mini skirt of some sort. All of these looks, except number four, feature shorts or skirts simply because I own a lot of those pieces.  There's a way to make jeans and a t-shirt look more in...

Outfit: Polka Dot Blazer, Purple Graphic Tee, and Acid Wash Skinny Jeans

Image
Just a quick outfit post today! I wore this casual outfit last week and probably didn't even need the jacket when I took these pictures. I thought it was a much more interesting look with the addition of my polka dot blazer though. This blazer always gets buried underneath other more-often-worn coats so I sometimes forget about it. It's a nice light layer that's actually perfect for springtime. Unfortunately it's usually too hot for jackets once proper springtime rolls around, so I'm wearing it now! I threw it on over a purple The New Pornographers band t-shirt and my skinny acid wash jeans.  I really like these jeans but I find them hard to style. I know I should treat them as a neutral denim but for some reason that's difficult for me! How do you guys style acid wash items? I know they're not everyone's taste, but once I bought these pants I appreciated the 80s goodness so much more. They're a good mix of a vintage wash with a modern cut. Als...

A Stop in Metropolis, IL and a Comfy Traveling Outfit

Image
Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time to show you some pictures from our stop in Metropolis, Illinois and the comfy outfit I wore driving that day. We finally decided to stop and see the giant Superman statue! We've driven by the town 1-2 times a year since I can remember and have never stopped so it was about time. It was a cute little town but the main draw was the colorful Superman stuff. It really stood out against the dreary, sprinkling weather. We only stayed a half hour but it was fun to take a few touristy pictures. jeans: new york and company | top: forever 21 | cardigan: thrifted (originally from target) | shoes: korks - shoe carnival Looking back at these pictures I'm realizing how much I love how this outfit turned out. It was kind of thrown together, mixing comfortable items for a cozy drive. The combination of khaki green and yellow just works! Plus any outfit with my Star Trek shirt is an A+ in my book, despite it being kind of inappropriate in a town...
