Outfit: Retro Late 60s Style Floral Print Dress with a Square Neckline & White Heels

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! I'm excited to finally show you this fantastic dress I found at Forever 21 a few weeks back. It's unlike anything else I own so I was looking forward to featuring it here. This was one of those purchases that happened because I stumbled across a silhouette I'd never tried and just wanted to see how it looked. Obviously I was happily surprised at how cute this dress looked so it came home with me! I love the retro late 60s/early 70s feel it has with the bell sleeves and square neckline. (If you want to find a true vintage version of this look, I found this adorable vintage 60s dress on Etsy and a vintage 60s pattern to make a similar dress.) This dress is also super comfortable because of the loose - but not too loose - empire waistline. I tend to stay away from empire waistlines these days since I wore them in high school when those empire waist tunic tops were popular. It wasn't that flattering and it can make people look a little preg...

Polka Dot Top, Red Cardigan, Black Shorts, Heart Tights, & Studded Loafers

Image
I wore this delightfully red and black outfit on Valentine's weekend. I guess I was in a red and black mood because that was basically everything I packed. It's not a bad thing though. That color combination is classic plus it's my school's colors. You have to admit that red and black is a great combination for school colors. Definitely more wearable than orange and blue or purple and yellow... Anyway, this was just a casual outfit for wearing around Athens that weekend. I get a lot of use out of this polka dot blouse I thrifted a few years back. I like how it looks paired with red so that's exactly what I did. Then I added some thrifted black cut-offs (that are slightly too tight around the waist for ultimate comfort), black heart sweater tights, & my studded black loafers. cardigan: forever 21 | top: thrifted | shorts: thrifted | tights: forever 21 | loafers: xappeal - rack room shoes | ring: forever 21 I spent a nice weekend with Matt but then...

Vintage Blue Oyster Cult T-shirt and a Pleated Plaid Skirt

Image
This Blue Oyster Cult shirt is one of my favorite t-shirts. (Dad's old concert t-shirts are some of the best I own.) It's way cooler than I am so when I put it on it instantly increases my cool factor. Especially when paired with a plaid skirt that may or may not have been a child's school uniform. Am I right, or am I right? I try to limit the frequency that I wear my vintage t-shirts because I don't want them to get over-washed and threadbare. They have to live forever! Yeah I know that won't happen, but this one is in good shape so I expect it to be around for a couple more decades. Anyway, this outfit is about as cool as it gets for me. I liked it a lot! t-shirt: vintage from Dad | plaid skirt: thrifted | shoes: solanze - shoe carnival | stud earrings, silver ring, hair bow: forever 21 | blue stone ring: old from the great grandma collection I had a messy messy bouffant that day...Oh well! I threw a bow on it, so it was okay. That's how it work...

A Jeanie Outfit: Western Style Shirt & Cutoff Shorts

Image
Good thing I had this Jeanie outfit all edited because I'm super behind on my school work tonight! Jeanie wore this over the summer. I really like her western-style button-down shirt and how perfectly it matches her sandals. I actually wish I had a pair of those sandals because Jeanie said they're comfy and I also love the snake skin pattern on them.  blouse: forever 21 | shorts: thrifted | shoes: rack room shoes | ring: forever 21 Sorry for the short post, but I have a ton of stuff to do before class. Have a nice Monday! I'm just hoping I get some sleep.

Rawr!: A Tiger Head Dress from PersunMall

Image
Happy Friday everyone! PersunMall  is sponsoring me this month and kindly sent me this Tiger Head dress . I included it on my wishlist post for them a little bit ago because it was so cool. It's definitely trendy and something I don't already have in my wardrobe. The material is a stretchy knit so it's very comfortable and I don't have to iron it (which is always a bonus when I'm running late). Unfortunately it doesn't fit like I thought it would, though it's still cute. It was supposed to be more of a skater dress look but the waist of the dress hits below my natural waist. I attribute that to my short torso - one of many banes of my existence. Luckily the different fit distinguishes this dress from the many dresses I have that are fitted at my natural waist. I'm looking forward to styling my tiger dress with the jean jacket I thrifted once it gets cool outside. tiger dress: c/o persunmall | shoes: cherokee - target | leaf ring: c/o persunmall...

Floral Romper, Lace Top, & Holographic Flats

Image
I bought this romper from Target last year and I think it's so cute, but it was time to remix it in a new way. So I layered my relatively new black lace top underneath it! I thought the double prints worked and it covered me up on top a bit more since this romper is extremely leg-tastic. romper: xhileration - target | lace top: h&m | hologram flats: forever 21 | ring: forever 21 Sometimes you have to come up with unique poses to show off various accessories.  This is the first time in a while that I've had a decent amount of outfits photographed ahead of time! I know my posts haven't been super exciting lately, but I'm very excited about a couple of the outfits I wore last week. They'll be posted soon! I hope you guys like them too! Happy Wednesday!

Floral Patchwork Print Dress, Purple Cardigan, & Orange Sunglasses

Image
Haaaappy Wednesday! Here's a simple outfit for a warm day. This dress has a really neat back, but I wanted to wear a regular bra, so a cardigan was the solution for that dilemma! I don't know why I never wore this purple cardigan with this dress before, but I like it. So many colors look nice with this dress though.  I just took a solitary trip to the library in this outfit, but it was a nice day. I checked out 7 books, so I'll be doing plenty of awesome reading for the next couple of weeks! I'm a nerd? dress, cardigan, sunglasses, necklace: forever 21  | shoes: xhileration - target | ring: great grandma collection I hope you're having a good week so far! I fully intend on catching up on reading all of your blogs soon but I'm so behind! I'll feel much more relaxed once I do, though. Adios!

Little Black Dress Remix

Image
Happy Friday! dress: poof apparel; ross dress for less blouse: thrifted shoes: croft & barrow socks: very very old from ireland hair flower: forever 21 ring: vintage from great grandma collection I really like how I can wear this dress during all seasons depending on how I layer it. More recently, I've enjoyed layering blouses underneath it. One of my favorites under it is my ruffled leopard print blouse. I went for a monochromatic look for this outfit though. The socks make everything a lot cuter, I think. Although some people were staring at me whilst walking around campus. For real. Here's a few ways I've worn this dress in the past: I can't wait until it's cool enough for tights here! The tightless picture was taken in late September last year. So I guess I have a while to go.

Jeanie's in Her Birthday Outfit

Image
Jeanie is 18 now! So here is her outfit from that day! She wanted to show off her new ring. It's a pretty cool deer. I think it'll be really festive around Christmas time. skirt: thrifted top: forever 21 shoes: unsure ring: forever 21 This green skirt was originally a long, ridiculous-looking thing. Now it's cute. I love thrift finds. She did her hair in a very cool way too. It fell out when we got to the restaurant though. Now I'm almost caught up with my pictures! I spent a lot of Wednesday night catching up on blogs too. It was enjoyable. I'm glad it's Friday because I'm having a dinner party get together with some old high school friends tonight. It should be pretty awesome, especially since one of those old friends is a chef now and will be doing the cooking. Happy Friday!
