Outfit: Concert Tee, Black Denim Mini Skirt, Pink Tights, and White Converse

Image
Here I am wearing a concert t-shirt again. At this point I'm not sure I'll ever stop wearing them. Maybe when I'm 70 I won't wear them with bright pink tights and white wedge Converse, but really, who knows? Maybe we'll all be dressing like Zenon : Girl of the 21st Century by then. (I can only hope.) And if I really take a look at this outfit, all I need is a colorful vest and I may as well have come off the space station. They really liked vests in that movie. I guess they don't need sleeves when everything's climate controlled? It is, however, not climate controlled outside in Atlanta. These pictures are from a couple months ago but it still hasn't reliably warmed up here yet. Also, my hair is now completely different since I had it chopped off again into an asymmetrical pixie a couple weeks ago. If you haven't seen it, check out my Instagram page! t-shirt: The Killers concert | skirt: h&m | tights: kmart | shoes: converse.com |...

Outfit: Futurama Cat Pin, Dotted Crop Top, Colorful Skater Skirt, and Black Sneakers

Image
I must be on a colorful skater skirt kick lately, so I apologize, but here's another outfit featuring one I've had for quite a while but don't wear nearly enough. In my previous outfit post I styled a colorful skater skirt for work , so here's an outfit I definitely wouldn't wear to work featuring a short skirt and crop top combination. It's perfect for these hot days we're still having in Georgia. The true star of this outfit is my awesome cat Leela pin from Danielle V Green Illustrations. She has a whole Halloween cat line with cats dressed as various characters. I love them so much. I bought two others that you'll see here at some point too - cat Ariel and cat Scully. I keep wearing them to work. I don't even care if people start thinking I'm weird. I like my cat pins to be dressed as my favorite pop culture characters!  Anyway, I played off the Leela pin and wore some purple socks (to match her hair.) I also enjoyed the combinati...

Outfit: Strapless Ruffled Polka Dot Romper with Red Sneakers

Image
Happy Saturday to you! You know I enjoy a good thrift find and I finally got out to Goodwill a couple weekends ago to sift through their treasures. This romper was one of my finds. It was a little confusing to the cashier since she wasn't sure whether to charge it as shorts or a dress. (Spoiler: It ended up being charged as shorts.) Did I need another romper? Probably not, but I figured it'd be nice for these scorching, humid days we've been having here in Georgia. Plus the ruffles on it conveniently mean I can wear it without a strapless bra and nobody can see my nips. Romper win! I wore this on a walk with Riker where I also played Pokemon Go - because I'm an adult. Note the comfy walking shoes I got from Rue 21 - which I hadn't been in in many many years until recently. They were definitely a good choice for our walk, which turned out to be super long. Riker almost didn't make it home because the sun came out half way through our walk and made it feel...

Outfit: Leopard Skater Skirt, Blue Graphic T-shirt, & Pink Converse High-Tops

Image
It's probably clear by now that I can and will pair leopard print with nearly everything. I hadn't thought to wear my The Good Life t-shirt with leopard print yet, so here it is! This look gives me a high school vibe. I would wear graphic t-shirts and Converse a lot back then. This pair of high-tops is actually a pair from high school that I didn't wear that often which is why they're in such great condition! There are quite a few pairs of old Converse and Vans in my closet. I figured I should try to wear some of them more often since I've kept holding onto them. This pink pair matched the octopus on my shirt so wearing them together was meant to be. top: the good life concert | skirt: forever 21 | shoes: converse | bow: euberah What do you think about sneakers with dresses and skirts? I've been seeing people wear all kinds of outfits with various gym shoes. I like it! I think the pink Converse made this outfit feel kind of young. Now that I think abou...

Floral Trousers, White Sailor Top, Black Converse, & a Jean Jacket

Image
Happy Monday everyone! This is the outfit I wore to my comprehensive exams two Fridays ago. Matt snapped these pictures for me outside of Cine (a local movie theatre) after we watched a film at the Eco Film Festival that was going on. We had a really fun weekend after I took my exams.  I was originally wearing some really cute tan loafers this day, but they tore up my feet walking out to campus. Once I got back to the apartment I had to find some comfy shoes to walk all the way downtown. The only ones I had out in Athens that weren't sandals were my trusty old Converse. And when I say "old" I mean it. They're from junior year of high school. Mom bought them for me to wear in my Jojo costume when I was in Seussical the Musical. They may look ratty but they're incredibly comfortable after this many years of use! Putting them on was like magic after the damage done to the back of my ankles from those other shoes. Magic comfort. P.S. Don't you guys love t...

Halloween Costume 2013: 80s Aerobics Instructor

Image
Here it is: my 80s aerobics instructor costume! This was a really easy costume to put together and it was actually quite comfy. The only difficulty came when I was downtown and had to use the bathroom. Onesie problems. Isn't it always awkward to be practically naked while in the stall? That can't just be me. But anyway... The leotard was a vintage find at Savers over the summer. I knew this had to be my costume this year since I stumbled upon the leotard's striped glory. I just added a pair of colorful tights, a stretchy headband, and these strange-colored legwarmers I got as a gag gift. I definitely didn't realize that all my tights have that slight band on the upper thigh until yesterday though. This much of my tights doesn't usually show! Oh well. leotard: thrifted - savers | tights: kmart | legwarmers: christmas gag gift? | shoes: keds My strong, athletic pose is the best pose for this awesomely unflattering costume! Star Trek Shirt, Blue Skater Skirt, & Black Sneakers

Image
I couldn't pass up this Star Trek shirt when I was browsing Forever 21 online. I am  a casual fan so I figured it was safe to buy it. I'm slowly making my way through the original series on Netflix after being a fan of Next Generation. I couldn't resist the fun design of this shirt even though it's a muscle tee. I bought a small and it's seriously over-sized on me. It's absolutely necessary to wear some sort of bandeau bra underneath - or wear a cardigan all day. I did both. If I was one of those leggings-as-pants girls, this would be the perfect top to wear with them because it thoroughly covers the butt. (It's also really great as a sleep shirt.) But anyway, this shirt is 'da bomb'. And I matched the colors in the rest of my outfit to the design on the shirt because that's how I roll. Did you expect anything less from me? top: forever 21 | skirt: forever 21 | cardigan: forever 21 | shoes: circo - target | socks: kmart  These...

Airplane Pin with a Denim Dress, Leopard Cardigan, & Keds

Image
I guess I've really been loving wearing my little Keds lately because here's another outfit with a dress & Keds combo. They're really comfy for walking back and forth to campus. This white pair is from high school when I was in Grease. So they're pretty old...but that's okay! It's like my vintage airplane pin was meant to be paired with this denim dress. They look so perfectly retro-tastic together. Maybe denim just goes with airplanes. I don't know, but this outfit wouldn't be nearly as good if I wasn't wearing my airplane pin. I can thank Jeanie for picking it out for me as I rushed out the door that morning. She was my accessorizer.  dress, cardigan, hair bow: forever 21 | shoes: keds | socks: kmart | airplane pin: vintage from grandma I hope you guys have a great start to your week. I stayed up pretty late getting my readings done for class, so I'll be tired. Oh well. It's a brand new week and I fully intend on ...

Pink Leopard Dress, Colorful Keds, and Teal Accents

Image
I really love this pink leopard print dress I got on sale from Modcloth a little while back. I've been consciously trying to style my dresses in more than one way for the blog. I think this is this dress' 4th feature on here! This time I paired some super colorful Keds with it (and ridiculously purple socks). I enjoyed the way my teal makeup and earrings contrasted with the pink in the dress too. Overall a pretty bold, colorful look for class but that's how I roll. dress: modcloth | sunglasses: dollar tree | shoes: keds - ross dress for less | socks: kmart | earrings: thrifted | belt: modcloth Do you guys like my ridiculous sparkly pink sunglasses? I got them from Dollar Tree. Seriously. I've been buying cool sunglasses there for so many years. Sorry this post was up a tiny bit later than usual. Flickr was down when I was trying to schedule my post! At least the oh-so-considerate landscapers woke me up early with leaf blowers right outside...

New Stuff!

Image
You guys. I've acquired way too much new stuff over the past couple of weeks. I think I'm actually going to have to leave some stuff at home when I go back to school. And also I need to not spend any more money. But that's the moral of my story almost all the time. So I figured I'd share my new stuff with you since a lot of it is great thrift finds or bargains and I always love hearing about people's bargain finds. First up: my tiger head dress courtesy of PersunMall which you guys saw yesterday. I think it'll be cool paired with some boots in the fall. Or maybe a colorful cardigan and flats. The 80s dress I found at Savers up in Illinois. It fits me perfectly and I need to wear it asap. New bows! And thrifted scarves! I spent too much on this OCC Lip Tar in Queen but it's so pretty! Clothes thrifted at my favorite thrift store in Illinois. All very inexpensive. I think I paid $24 for the whole lot plus the scarves above, two books,...
