Petite Panoply

This little light blue denim pinafore dress from Forever 21 has been in my wardrobe since 2011 when overalls and pinafores weren't all that popular. Now I see overalls all over the place, although I think they're still gaining momentum. I did buy this in the height of the "chambray" craze though. It's a nice, breezy material for the many warm weather months we have here in Georgia. Plus I think the little leafy print on it makes it just a little bit different from other pinafores I've seen.  As you can see, I pretty much have only worn it when it's hot outside, but I think I've done a decent job of styling it a bunch of different ways. One of my favorites is number 1, where I tucked in the top part to make it a denim skirt. I enjoy it best when I have some pattern mixing going on too, so number 2 is another personal favorite. I did it. I broke out the blue NYX Macaron lipstick I bought last month and I actually think it worked! I tried my hardest to showcase a somewhat wearable look with blue lipstick. Bold lipstick is definitely another accessory in an outfit so I tried to keep the rest of the look relatively toned down. At least, toned down for me. One simple pattern, a solid top, and clear studded sandals. My main accessories were my awesome dinosaur bow and the crazy blue lipstick.  I hope this inspires some of you to step outside your makeup comfort zone, though I know blue lipstick isn't everyone's cup of tea. I did  only go water plants for a friend the day I wore this so the blue lips have yet to step into a store or anything. Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore a couple weeks back on a particularly warm day. Spring has been very up and down temperature wise so I was completely comfortable in this skin-baring outfit. Matt and I took a walk up to the Smoothie King and wandered around town a little bit. So this is an outfit I actually went out and did something in. Hence the addition of my red PepaLoves bag and smoothie accessory. I'm sure I complained about the heat at some point, but it was a very pleasant afternoon walk. Plus I got to break out some very summery clothes even though I'll probably be ready to put them away once June hits.  I really like how these pictures turned out. (Thanks Matt!) Hey it's my new denim shirt again! I don't have nearly enough neutral tops so I'm sure this will be getting plenty of wear. For this outfit I let my bold houndstooth tights be the star though. They were only around $2 during a Forever 21 sale so I had to snatch them up. I can see them looking really cool with a red pencil skirt. Maybe that'll be one of my Thanksgiving break outfits! It's time for another Jeanie outfit! This is a summery look from before it was officially fall. Both of the pieces here could probably be paired with about a thousand different outfits. I guess I've really been loving wearing my little Keds lately because here's another outfit with a dress & Keds combo. They're really comfy for walking back and forth to campus. This white pair is from high school when I was in Grease. So they're pretty old...but that's okay! It's like my vintage airplane pin was meant to be paired with this denim dress. It's Friday! I swear this summer is flying by. This is something I wore on a day of thrifting and hanging around town. I found a tropical print dress and a few sweaters (that'll have to wait a few months to be worn). I would say it was a successful thrifting trip! Happy Monday and happy Memorial Day too! This cat print shirt is pretty awesome, am I right? Not only is it cat print, but it has ruffles and a cool back. (Thanks for giving this top to me Kate!)
