Outfit: Floral Wide Legged Pants with a Green Concert T-shirt

Image
Happy happy Friday everyone! I hope you're having a lovely day. I'm not sure why I decided I needed a pair of wide legged pants, but here they are. I tried on a pair in Las Vegas, left them, and the thought of them kept calling to me. They're like ultra stylish pajamas! How could I resist? I also enjoy having something with a different silhouette in my wardrobe. For their first time out I wore them in just about the comfiest way possible: with a concert t-shirt. What do you think? Have you noticed wide-legged pants around the blogosphere too? If you have any suggestions for other ways to style these that are perhaps a bit less pajama-like, I'm all ears! I was thinking maybe a white peter pan collar blouse and my new clog sandals.  pants: forever 21 | top: Decemberists concert | shoes: target As you read this I'm either making my way up to Illinois or already at my destination. We're heading up for a wedding and a visit. I'll be happy to expe...

Outfit: Peach Lace Overlay Skirt, Gray V-neck T-shirt, Black Clog Sandals, & a Flower Hair Clip

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore out to the mall and out to breakfast with Matt a little over a week ago. I found this skirt in the clearance racks at New York & Co. and was planning on styling it in a casual way. I paired it with this gray brewery t-shirt and thought it ended up toning down the fanciness of the skirt. I'm sure this skirt will look really cute all dressed up too, but that would've been a little much for a mall trip. I just really liked how this outfit turned out. I don't wear a lot of skirts at this length but it worked here with my trusty clog sandals! I actually got a couple real life compliments the day I wore this too! top: creature comforts brewery | skirt: new york and company | shoes: bongo - target | flower hair clip: forever 21 | necklace: matt's from boy scouts In other news I'm preparing for Dragon Con (which is Atlanta's comic con type convention) this weekend. I'm pumped! Any excuse to dress u...

Outfit: Red Matching Separates with Gold Leaf Earrings and Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Monday everyone! I'm so excited to finally show you the new matching set I bought last month. It had a broken zipper but was the only one left in my size so I bought it knowing it needed to be repaired. Mom recently stuck a new zipper in it for me since I'm not a sewing wizard. This set was only about $20 so I consider that a bargain even if it needed a repair.  I can't get enough of matching separates. They're super on trend, highly remixable, and easy to style simply for summer. For the debut of this red and navy blue matching set I added some large gold leaf earrings and my trusty brown clog sandals. I've already worn the skirt on its own and plan on styling the top with different bottoms too. That's the beauty of these sets. Once it's not cool to wear clothes that match perfectly you can wear them separately! As of now I'm enjoying that these sets are in style again. They remind me of the matching separates Mom would make us when we were l...

Outfit + Video: Boat Print Shirt, Yellow Pleated Skirt, & a Straw Hat

Image
Happy Friday everyone! This post is a first for this blog because it includes an outfit video ! Sometimes it's nice to see how an outfit looks in motion. Plus most of you have never seen me moving around like an actual person. I may sit a lot but I promise I move in real life. Now you have proof. So please scroll down and check out my short video and if you feel so inclined subscribe to my YouTube channel because there'll be more videos.  Anyway, this boat print shirt is one of my favorite thrift finds ever. I definitely paid less than $1 for it. It always looks good paired with red and yellow so here it is with a yellow skirt. I think I should probably try it with other colors in the future though. To me, this is a perfectly summery outfit. Nautical things always scream "summer" to me. Also this hat seems to only make appearances when it's ridiculously hot outside. shirt: liz claiborne petites - thrifted | skirt: sheinside | shoes: xhileration - targ...

Leopard Print High-Low Dress and Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Wednesday! Today's post is just a simple summery outfit. When it's hot outside it's just easiest to throw on a dress (without a belt is preferable) and some shoes. Of course, leopard print is one of my go-to prints so this dress is a favorite. It also has polka dots in the mesh detailing so that's my two favorite prints in one dress. I'm not a huge fan of having to wear a strapless bra with it, but that's just the burden of spaghetti straps + boobs.  dress: xhileration - target | shoes: xhileration - target | arrow earrings: forever 21 Unfortunately I don't have anything particularly interesting to talk about today. I managed to get a cold basically immediately after graduation so I've been dealing with that. It'd be great if it went away soon since I have things to do! Have a fantastic middle of your week!

A Jeanie Outfit: Dotted Chambray Top & a Skater Skirt

Image
It's time for another Jeanie outfit! This is a summery look from before it was officially fall. Both of the pieces here could probably be paired with about a thousand different outfits. You have to love versatile clothes. I wish I had a denim polka dot top like Jeanie's! skirt, top: forever 21 | shoes: target | sunglasses: ? Aren't these shoes goofy? The heel is squishy! They're from the Target kids' department and are really cute, but the squishiness is definitely strange. Happy Saturday!

Double Navy & Red Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's a relatively simple outfit I wore to class the other day. For some reason I really wanted to wear a navy blue top with my blue shorts. Double navy! I tried my sail boat top at first and something about the two shades of blue just wasn't working, so out came my striped t-shirt. This was a very comfy outfit. I think these red shoes kind of make the outfit though. Plus they're a little big around the ankle so there was no rubbing on my scratched-up ankles! Hooray comfort. shorts: forever 21 | top: forever 21 | shoes: cherokee - target | belt: thrifted nails: o.p.i - the living daylights & china glaze - budding romance Thank you to Matt for taking my pictures this day. He's learning well! I hope you guys are having a good week. Mine has been busy and I'm very sleepy. I keep getting very little sleep due to all the work I can't catch up on. Maybe this weekend I can catch up. I doubt it though. Have a g...

A Jeanie Outfit: Deer Print Dress, Wayfarers, & Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit Jeanie wore the other day. We both bought this same dress in different patterns in the Target kids' section the other day. Hers has little happy deer all over it. This outfit is almost entirely from the kids' department at Target though. Which means either adults are wearing adult-looking outfits or we're wearing childish outfits. I like to assume it's the first situation. Either way, this outfit is da bomb. And you'll be seeing my black bow print version of this dress sometime soon, I'm sure. dress: cherokee - target | shoes: cherokee- target | necklace: forever 21 | sunglasses: dollar tree Little happy deer closeup time: I hope you had a jolly weekend. I've been super busy visiting people and whatnot. It's been good but I usually feel ready to come home by the end of our trip. I won't have too much time to relax before getting back to the grad school grind so I'm looking forward to do...

Polka Dot Denim, Aviators, & an Orange Top

Image
It's Friday! I swear this summer is flying by. This is something I wore on a day of thrifting and hanging around town. I found a tropical print dress and a few sweaters (that'll have to wait a few months to be worn). I would say it was a successful thrifting trip! I've worn a variation of this outfit probably four times already. It's weird but I always get positive comments on it. I guess it's just one of those crowd pleasing outfits! I certainly like it. skirt: target | shoes: mossimo - target | top: forever 21 | sunglasses: delia's | earrings: forever 21 | bracelet: vintage And...here's a wonderful action shot of me running across the driveway. I'm almost like an athlete. Since I was nominated to do this little question thing Liebster Blog Award by Emma from Squirrel and Walrus , I figured I'd go ahead and do it now. I know you're all just dying to read more about me. I actually turned to my sister a minute ago and ...
