Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Print Tee, and Olive Earrings

Image
Happy Saturday to you! I'm so excited to show you this outfit today - mostly because of my awesome olive earrings from IncredInedible . They were a gift from my sister because she knew they were on my Etsy wishlist for a very long time. If you've never checked out IncredInedible and like quirky jewelry, you definitely should! All the pieces look just like the food they're supposed to be. It's amazing how detailed every piece is, from donuts to baked potatoes. I'll definitely be making an order for more fun earrings soon! The rest of the outfit is representative of my go-to outfits lately - comfy t-shirts and skirts paired with black tights and boots. My leopard print pocket t-shirt is from Boohoo and goes with almost everything. (Hooray for versatile comfy shirts!) The green corduroy skirt is from H&M and the stacked heel lace up boots were on clearance at Forever 21 for something like $14 so I couldn't pass them up. I have all black lace-up boots I...

Outfit: Blue Vintage Dress, Patterned Tights, and a Leather Jacket

Image
This is what I look like in the wind when it's way too cold to be outside taking outfit pictures on Christmas. You may notice the uncharacteristic snow in these pictures too. That's because I was up in Illinois for the holidays and, although we were supposed to get snow in Georgia a couple weeks back, my neighborhood didn't get much more than a dusting. Fine by me! But snow does make for some nice automatic light reflectors when taking pictures! This vintage cobalt blue dress is a new addition to my collection, given to me by a friend of the family. I'm always happy to accept cool vintage clothes, especially when they're already tailored for someone short. This ultra blue dress was worn for Christmas dinner and the shift shape left plenty of room for me to gorge myself on tasty foods.  For its debut, I styled it with a new faux leather jacket (since my other one was starting to get worn out after many years of trusty use) and a pair of tights with a fish...

Halloween Outfit: Striped Dress over an Orange Blouse with Candy Corn Earrings

Image
Happy Halloween! You know I enjoy dressing in slightly themed clothes right around different holidays so here's one I wore to work this week. I don't get very many opportunities to wear my various Halloween earrings so I have to start with the Halloween-y outfits earlier than the day-of. This outfit featured my candy corn earrings, along with an orange silk blouse I thrifted recently layered underneath a sleeveless striped dress. I finished everything off with plain black tights and my cutout ankle boots. These boots always feel kind of witch-y to me so they're perfect for Halloween-inspired outfits. Do you wear outfits inspired by holidays too? I know some people find that really corny but I've always been a fan of holidays and how they're something fun to look forward to peppered among all the regular days of life. Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday too! dress: ross | top: thrifted | boots: boohoo | earrings: claire's Are you doing an...

Outfit: Red Plaid Mock Turtleneck Dress, Gray Cardigan, and Two Toned Flats

Image
Happy Monday! It's time for another outfit post! After resizing these photos I realized I'm wearing nearly the same color scheme as the outfit in my last post. This time the sweater is gray rather than silver, but it's still very close. Oh well! Red with black/white/gray is a staple color pairing in my wardrobe. It's especially appropriate to wear plenty of red now that it's February (which means Valentine's Day and National Heart Month). I feel like wearing every red dress I own or anything with heart print. That might be excessive though. Anyway, here I'm wearing my red plaid mock turtleneck dress again. I combined it with a gray H&M cardigan I've had since high school, some black tights, and new black & white Steve Madden flats I got for just $15 at Shoe Carnival. I find it hard to believe that certain things I wear are from my high school days, but here I am still wearing this gray cardigan. I swear, H&M cardigans hold up the best out...

Outfit: Colorful Bodycon Dress, Black Cardigan, and Black Ankle Boots

Image
I picked up this little colorful bodycon dress over the summer because it seemed highly remixable and it was incredibly inexpensive. I thought it was time to style it for the mild winter weather we've been having lately. (You can see how I wore it in the July heat by clicking here though!) It has a ton of colors in its abstract pattern so I could have tried a more colorful pairing, but black seemed like a good choice that day. I added a black cardigan, plain black tights, and some ankle boots. My pink thrifted earrings were another colorful touch though!  This silhouette is quite the departure from my last outfit post! I don't wear bodycon styles as much because I feel like an a-line shape balances out my lack of hips/butt. Plus you don't have to suck in your food baby as much after a hefty meal. I felt good in this outfit though! It's nice to mix things up. It really was a comfy outfit too! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good! I basically just hu...

Outfit: Burgundy Leather Jacket and a Crushed Velvet Top Layered Over a Leopard Print Dress

Image
I picked up this crushed velvet crop top from Forever 21 a few weeks ago with a birthday gift card. I couldn't resist its delightful crushed velvety-ness! I actually had a dress in almost this exact same fabric but it was way too large in the shoulders and bust so I gave it to my sister. This crop top fits perfectly though! For its debut I layered it over a leopard print high-low dress I got at Target a couple years ago. Layering crop tops over dresses is a great way to remix your dresses without adding a lot of bulk. This was kind of a perfect way to make this dress work for fall since it has spaghetti straps. I added my burgundy leather jacket for extra warmth even though I wore this before that big cold front blew down here. I just realized that this is the third outfit post in a row featuring leopard print. I'm sorry for leopard overload! I promise I don't wear it every day. These just happen to be the outfits I got pictures of recently.  leopard dress: xhilerati...

Red Velvet Skirt, Checkerboard Top, Heart Tights, & Red Moccasins

Image
This velvet skater skirt screams festive winter holiday times to me. It's still winter so it's still appropriate right? I just really like the texture velvet adds to an outfit.  I paired it with my checkerboard top, some heart print sweater tights, and my new red Minnetonka moccasins. Jeanie bought me these moccasins for Christmas and I love them. They're so bright and comfortable! Actually this entire outfit was pretty comfy. Velvet and sweater tights are both nice and warm!  top: boohoo | cardigan: so... - kohl's | skirt: romwe | tights: forever 21 | moccasins: minnetonka - delia's Obviously this is another outfit from when I was in Illinois. I have some outfits backlogged from that trip. The pictures are so nice and wintry though. I hope you guys have a good weekend! Happy Friday!

Casual New Year's Eve Outfit: Vintage T-Shirt, Tulle Skirt, & Striped Tights

Image
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a nice New Year's Eve. Mine was very casual and I enjoyed that a lot. We played a board game, had some beer, and watched various countdown shows until midnight. There were also sparklers, so that was exciting.  I thought about wearing a fully sequined dress but I was kind of tired and wanted to be able to lounge. That's not exactly easy when you're worried about sequins laying correctly. I was glad I had this black tulle skirt at home! It's festive but also comfortable - especially when paired with a soft vintage t-shirt like this Psychotic State one. This is probably my all-time favorite vintage shirt from Dad and that's saying something because they're all really cool. How can you beat this one though? I figured it made a nice statement about 2013 and the large amount of grad school that took up my life and brain. Anyway, I tried to add as much sparkle to my outfit as possible with my silver beaded necklace ...

A Wearable Halloween Outfit: Evil Cat Dress & Rust Orange Tights

Image
Happy Halloween! This outfit is actually what I'm wearing right this minute. Later I'll be in my 80s aerobics instructor costume, but for now I'm wearing a slightly Halloween-themed outfit. I can't help but be a bit literal with my holiday outfits. My Halloween outfits always have festive earrings and Halloween colors, so that's what's going on here. I wore this evil cat print dress layered over a sheer black blouse and added my rust orange tights to complete the Halloween color scheme. My earrings are little candy corns too! This outfit could easily be worn on a regular fall day though. I'd just swap out my festive earrings for another pair! dress: modcloth | blouse: nicole - thrifted | tights: forever 21 | shoes: forever 21 | earrings: claire's (gift) I hope you guys have a really fun Halloween whether you're out partying or inside watching festive movies. I plan on doing both of those things and possibly stuffing my face ...
