Outfit: Burgundy Leather Jacket and a Crushed Velvet Top Layered Over a Leopard Print Dress

Image
I picked up this crushed velvet crop top from Forever 21 a few weeks ago with a birthday gift card. I couldn't resist its delightful crushed velvety-ness! I actually had a dress in almost this exact same fabric but it was way too large in the shoulders and bust so I gave it to my sister. This crop top fits perfectly though! For its debut I layered it over a leopard print high-low dress I got at Target a couple years ago. Layering crop tops over dresses is a great way to remix your dresses without adding a lot of bulk. This was kind of a perfect way to make this dress work for fall since it has spaghetti straps. I added my burgundy leather jacket for extra warmth even though I wore this before that big cold front blew down here. I just realized that this is the third outfit post in a row featuring leopard print. I'm sorry for leopard overload! I promise I don't wear it every day. These just happen to be the outfits I got pictures of recently.  leopard dress: xhilerati...

Outfit + Video: Asymmetrical Galaxy Print Skirt, Polka Dot Crop Top, & Black Wedges

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I won't lie. These pictures may have the best lighting of any outfit pictures I've ever taken and that makes me very happy. Dealing with the mosquitoes and heat was worth it. So I may need to trek over there in the future. I think the golden hour lighting really compliments my sheer galaxy print skirt. I know this skirt is "so last year" but I still like it. The print is very cool! I like trying different pattern combinations with it. Last year I paired my leopard print crop top with it but this time I went with polka dots. There's a dotty thing going on in the skirt's pattern so somehow it works. Polka dots kind of go with everything though! skirt: romwe | top: forever 21 | wedges: shoe carnival | necklace: sheinside I made another outfit video to go along with this outfit since I was really feeling this look. Plus, why not? Check it out and subscribe if you feel so inclined. I have some pretty exciting plans...

Leopard Print High-Low Dress and Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Wednesday! Today's post is just a simple summery outfit. When it's hot outside it's just easiest to throw on a dress (without a belt is preferable) and some shoes. Of course, leopard print is one of my go-to prints so this dress is a favorite. It also has polka dots in the mesh detailing so that's my two favorite prints in one dress. I'm not a huge fan of having to wear a strapless bra with it, but that's just the burden of spaghetti straps + boobs.  dress: xhileration - target | shoes: xhileration - target | arrow earrings: forever 21 Unfortunately I don't have anything particularly interesting to talk about today. I managed to get a cold basically immediately after graduation so I've been dealing with that. It'd be great if it went away soon since I have things to do! Have a fantastic middle of your week!

Galaxy Print Skirt with a Leopard Print Top

Why? Because sometimes I need to dress like a galactic leopard. Or because I saw somebody else successfully pair these prints together and decided I needed to try it too. Either way I enjoyed the experimental weird mix of prints. Everything looks cooler with a pair of sunglasses too. These ones are from Dollar Tree (where everything's a dollar!). Cheap sunglasses are where it's at.  skirt: romwe | top: papaya | shoes: shoe carnival | sunglasses: dollar tree  I hope you guys have a nice weekend! I'm wooping it up and visiting family in Illinois. Good times.  Happy Friday!

Sister Style: Heart Print & Chevron Dresses

Happy Monday everyone! Here's what Jeanie and I wore to a get-together last Thursday. There was plenty of fun had by all because Cards Against Humanity is a hilarious game.  These pictures were taken just when Matt pulled up to pick us up so they're obviously the most attractive. It's always awkward having extra spectators when outfit picture time is happening.  My dress is a recent Target purchase. I randomly decided to try it on because I didn't have anything like it yet. This is probably as close to the maxi dress trend that I'd get. It's just more flattering on my short frame if some leg is showing. It's also an incredibly comfortable dress, so that's always a plus! shoes: shoe carnival | dress: target | spiked bracelet: jigsaw london Have a great day!

Leopard High-Low Skirt, Orange Sunglasses, & a Pink T-shirt

Image
It was hot walking to class yesterday! I felt like wearing something that would be comfortable and light so I pulled out my slightly over-sized American Apparel t-shirt. I wore my leopard print dress as a skirt again too. I think I've worn it more this way than as a dress. It's really great that I can get two different looks out of it though!  Also, check out my newest pair of sunglasses! They're so big and orange! I love them. You can never have too many pairs of sunglasses. leopard print dress worn as a skirt: xhileration - target | t-shirt: american apparel - sam's club | belt: ralph lauren - thrifted | brown flats: xhileration - target | sunglasses, cameo necklace: forever 21 nails: o.p.i. - you only live twice, o.p.i. - when monkeys fly I was not feeling the heat yesterday at all. It wasn't even that bad, but when I walk quickly to class I end up sweaty and disgusting by the time I get there. I guess I should be used to this by no...

Vintage Concert Shirt, Leopard Print Skirt, & Patent Leather 60's Flats

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I was feeling like wearing leopard print today (when am I not feeling like that?) and realized I don't have a leopard print skirt here. Then I saw my high-low dress from Target that I wore in this post and figured I could just wear it as a skirt! And so this outfit was born. A mix of leopard print, an old Rainbow concert t-shirt, and my 60's patent leather bow flats. dress worn as skirt: xhileration - target | t-shirt: old concert shirt from Dad | cardigan: so... - kohls | shoes: vintage - thrifted | belt: thrifted | earrings: charming charlie | hair bow: h&m Well I hope everyone has a great weekend if I don't return, but I'll probably update because Sunday is my birthday! Wooo me! Woo birthday! Actually I'm pretty sure I'm not doing much, but I may go downtown tomorrow night and party it up and I'm definitely doing dinner with the family on Sunday which should be delicious. It's not as exciting o...

Night in the Ruts

Image
I'm wearing my galaxy skirt again! Whenever I feel like pretending I'm cool I put on my old band t-shirts. This galaxy print skirt is pretty cool too so I figured it was time I combined their coolness. skirt: romwe.com t-shirt: vintage from Dad shoes: bongo - kmart belt: old from Mom sunglasses: walmart bracelet: premier designs hair bow: forever 21 My nails are painted with colors from the new China Glaze Summer Neons collection. I've been loving them lately because they're so bright and happy! Like my Aerosmith Night in the Ruts shirt? The back of it is my favorite.  I think Matt was kind of confused about the asymmetrical hem on this skirt. I like it because it's different and it also feels like I'm wearing a cape - sort of. This silhouette works for short girls like me. I get to have a longer skirt but it still shows my legs so I don't look dwarfed.  Have a nice weekend everyone!

When I won some credits for Romwe.com I knew I needed to get one of those cool galaxy print skirts. This one was a little different because of the green/blue color scheme. It's supposed to be worn asymmetrical to the side, but I turned it around to wear it as a high-low (mullet) skirt. Unfortunately the hem wasn't finished and it slowly unraveled all day. I'll have to hem it before I can wear it again. Sad. shirt: forever 21 skirt: romwe.com shoes: bongo - kmart bracelets: lila boutique necklace: great grandma collection New nail polish from the OPI Spiderman collection. It's gold in some lighting and green in others. I'm pretty pumped because today I get to wear that pink dress I thrifted. Hooray! I hope I get a few good pictures of me wearing it because it's absolutely fantastic.  Happy Saturday everyone!
