Outfit: Yellow Top, Orange Red Floral Skirt, and Fringe Sandals

Image
I feel like I have a different hair color in every new post here! I've been having fun trying out new non-red hair colors these past few months. These pictures were taken right after I had my hair done so it was very freshly toned with purple toner to make it nice and cool-toned. I enjoyed the way it contrasted with my warm-toned outfit. Now my hair is pink though - so head over to Instagram to see that!  Now on to the outfit: Most of these pieces have been seen on the blog before minus my new-ish brown fringe sandals I bought off of Amazon for $10. They're really comfortable too! I styled them with a top I got on clearance at Target and a handmade floral print pleated skirt. top: target | skirt: handmade | shoes: amazon I've been absent a little while since I was away on vacation in Las Vegas and have also been working a lot prior to that. Las Vegas was awesome and my bachelorette party was a ton of fun, including seeing Thunder From Down Under again, eat...

Outfit: Metallic Leopard Print Skirt, Faux Choker Top, and Red Wedges

Image
Just in time for Valentine's Day, here's a very Valentine-ish outfit to share with you! Because leopard print and red is automatically a Valentine's Day look in my mind. I actually wore this at Matt and my engagement party earlier this month so it's fitting to share it now. I had no idea what to wear that day and just threw this together a couple hours before. Most of it is new from a little bit of a shopping spree I had while looking for outfits for our engagement pictures.  This choker top from H&M is pretty trendy right now but I picked it up because it's both trendy and would match with a lot of different bottoms. The metallic leopard skirt was originally meant to be for our engagement pictures but I decided to go with another outfit, so this was its debut instead. Can you really ever have too many leopard print skirts? I say no. And my bright red wedges were a clearance find from over the summer. All a grand combination for a Valentine look! t...

Outfit: Embroidered Unicorn Shirt, Gray Pleated Skirt, and Silver Shoes

Image
Happy Thursday everyone! I'm here with a new outfit to hopefully brighten the end of your week since there's a unicorn on my shirt. Yes, I'm a grown adult with a unicorn shirt but nobody has to know I'm a grown adult, right? I was out shopping for a possible engagement picture outfit and came across this embroidered unicorn shirt and couldn't let it go. Actually my sister convinced me I needed it and then I found a gray pleated skirt that exactly matched the shirt's gray ringed collar and sleeves. So it was fate that I had to buy both and wear them together. It was a weirdly warm January day when I wore this, so I styled this outfit without tights and instead went with some purple socks (to play off the unicorn, of course) and a pair of silver oxfords. It was all very comfy and a little spring-y, which is good in my book because I'm actually kind of ready for spring weather. Probably the fact that most of my winter clothes are in storage still... ...

Outfit: Teal Graphic Tee, Polka Dot Pleated Skirt, and Silver Platforms

Image
If you've been around here a while you know I enjoy styling my graphic t-shirts and giving them life outside of the usual jeans + t-shirt routine. A particular favorite combination is a short skirt and a t-shirt. This time I styled my teal The Good Life shirt with a full polka dot pleated skirt. I wore this on the weekend and really wanted to  wear something that would match with my new Colourpop eye shadow in Mermaid Kiss which is a bright lime green shade, so I figured blue tones would work. Then I added my extra tall silver platforms from Forever 21 because why not?  I've been experimenting with different makeup looks lately, especially during the weekends. A lot of my clothes are in storage since the whole townhouse falling through debacle, but I have most of my makeup with me still. It gives me an opportunity to still be creative with my looks even if I have to rewear outfits a bunch of times. Since Instagram started their stories I've been trying to share more...

Outfit: Mustard Yellow Top, Pleated Polka Dot Skirt, and Red Flats

Image
It's finally the weekend and I'm excited to show you an outfit I've actually been rewearing pretty often the past couple of months. I'm a big fan of pairing primary colors together - maybe because they look good with my hair - so this has been one of my new favorite outfits. I picked the mustard yellow top up on clearance at target for about $12 and it's so perfect. This shade of yellow looks good with so many other colors and it'll work year round. I styled it with the navy blue polka dot skirt from a matching set and a pair of simple red pointed flats. This whole outfit is very me. Plenty of color, polka dots, lace, pointed flats... top: target | skirt, flats: forever 21 I apologize for the short break in posting. Life has been ridiculous. If you follow me on Snapchat (via JahmieRose) you may have seen the fiasco that has been my life this past week. Here's my story of woe if you're at all interested.  If not, feel free to move along:  ...

Work Outfit: Navy Polka Dot Skirt, Purple Tie Neck Blouse, and Silver Oxfords

Image
Happy Wednesday to you! I'm happy to share another work outfit with you. I guess it's not traditional work wear but I wore it to the office. We have a pretty casual dress code. This purple top was a thrift find from a long while back. It has a kind of 70s feel to it and I love the color. The little neck tie absolutely has to be tied in a knot or it comes undone about 10,000 times a day though. I paired my purple blouse with more cool tones with my navy blue polka dot skirt and a pair of bright silver oxfords. My socks matched my top a little bit and that's a-okay with me! How has your week been going? Mine could be better but I'm hanging in there until the weekend. It's my sister's grad school graduation party and I'm looking forward to some good times. Other than that, nothing too exciting is going on in my life. Wish I could tell you a good story, but I have none to tell so please enjoy the pictures and tell me what you have planned for the wee...

Outfit: Olive Green Sweater over a Floral Top, Pleated Leather Skirt, and Cutout Boots

Image
Happy happy Monday to you! I hope you had a fantastic weekend but now it's time to get back to reality. Luckily I have an outfit post to slightly brighten your day - I hope? I actually wore this to work on a more casual day but it's something I'd wear any day. This olive green sweater is one of my favorites for this time of the year. The v-neck and thin knit makes it great for layering over my many button down tops. This time I put it over a floral print button down crop top because it complimented the green shades in the floral print. Then I added my faux leather pleated skirt and cutout ankle boots. Matt took these pictures for me while we were out walking Riker after work. Sadly it gets dark by the time we're home from work now and Riker has to walk around in the dark. I'll have to give you a Riker pupdate sometime soon. He just keeps growing! sweater: target | floral shirt: h&m | skirt: forever 21 | boots: boohoo So did you have a good wee...

Outfit: Star Trek Matching Set with Blue Flats and a Bouffant

Image
top, skirt: handmade | shoes: delia's | earrings: dragon con 2014 I know I wore this Star Trek matching set to Dragon Con last year, but I just had to put it back on for Dragon Con 2015. Mom made it for me and it's one of my favorite outfits I own. I especially enjoy that the skirt and top can be worn separately too. I've definitely gotten plenty of use out of the skirt because the pattern pairs with pretty much any other color. The top gets less wear because I have to wear a sticky bra with it and ain't nobody got time for that - most days. This was my outfit for the last day of Dragon Con, which is probably the saddest day because everyone's packing to leave and most of the panels are finished. The crowds are 1/10th of their former ridiculousness. We still headed down there for more people watching and to eat lunch though. I'm already looking forward to next year! Anyway, I hope you're all having a fantastic week so far and had a great we...

Outfit: White Mock Neck Top, Colorful Star Trek Skirt, and White Sandals

Image
This pleated Star Trek skirt may be my favorite skirt in my closet. It's both super colorful - so it goes with a billion different tops - and geeky. Though I'm a bigger fan of Star Trek: TNG, I do enjoy original Star Trek too! This skirt is part of a matching set I wore to Dragon Con last year. My mom made it for me so it's one-of-a-kind. I'm going to need to wear the pieces together again before it's an inappropriate season to wear a crop top with a cutout in the front. (The temperature here is fine for crop tops well into October most of the time though!) Anyway, I actually wore this to work on one of our casual days. I paired the skirt with my new white mock turtleneck top and a pair of comfortable white sandals. I usually don't wear a whole lot of white, but I loved how the white top and sandals looked against the bold skirt. What do you think? (I must just be really really happy about my Star Trek skirt. This is how it makes me feel.) ski...
