Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Red Scarf, and Leopard Print Flats

Image
Happy New Year! Usually I have a roundup outfit post to start the new year but with busy holiday traveling that may have to wait until later. Since our trip to Europe was by far the highlight of 2016, I figured I'd show you another outfit I wore over there. This is what I wore on our first full day of exploring Prague. The pictures we took on Charles Bridge at dawn are some of my absolute favorite from the whole trip. It was amazingly crowd-free being there that early in the morning!  At this point in the trip my faux leather jacket wasn't quite cutting it with the cool weather and this day was especially windy up at the castle! Other than that I was pretty pleased with the pieces I picked to bring with and was able to remix them in a lot of different ways so I wasn't wearing the same outfit for 2.5 weeks. This look was a favorite of mine with the green button down corduroy skirt, leopard print flats from Target, and red dog print scarf. jacket: ashley by twe...

Outfit: Striped Dress, Blue Plaid Coat, Knee Socks, and a White Knit Scarf

Image
The amount of stripey patterns going on in this outfit makes me happy. I didn't originally plan to wear this blue plaid coat when I put on the rest of my clothes, but the added color and pattern adds a lot to my outfit. There might be too much going on for some, but I enjoyed it! It was perfect for wandering around Piedmont Park with Matt and Riker. Although at one point it got a little warm and I had to take my scarf off. Oh well! This striped fit and flare dress is one of the comfier options in my closet. It feels like pajamas which is almost always a plus. Then I layered some herringbone fishnet tights with black knee socks - because why not? The wedge boots were a practical, yet stylish choice because they're incredibly comfortable to walk in. Finally, I wore my big blue Firmoo glasses since they hadn't seen daylight in a while. Overall, a busy, yet comfy outfit for a warm winter day. coat: target | dress: forever 21 | tights: kohls? | socks: target | wed...

Outfit: Gray Wool Coat, Leopard Print Circle Scarf, Maroon Skirt, and Sheer Leopard Tights

Image
I picked up this gray wool blend coat from a Forever 21 sale over the summer because I figured I could use a new coat in a neutral color once it got cold. I had no idea what "boucle" was though. It seemed like some sort of textured wool, which was pretty correct I think. Apparently boucle is an uneven weave formed into loops. If you didn't know that, you learned something new today! Anyway, this coat has been keeping me warm this season with its detachable faux fur collar. I've been pairing it with my gray leopard print circle scarf a lot, which you can see here. For this outfit, I went with some double leopard print. These tights were buried in a bag under my bed for some reason so that's why you haven't seen them in years. They have a hole in them (on the back) but I remembered it being a lot worse so I think they just were forgotten. Luckily the hole isn't bad enough to not wear them! I happily wore them with my maroon skater skirt again and a...

Outfit: Faux Fur Scarf, Lace Dress, Leather Jacket, and Polka Dot Tights

Image
Happy Monday everyone! An all black outfit is a little different than the norm for me, but when I do it I tend to mix a bunch of textures or patterns to make it interesting. This time I did both! I just love the way different textures make an outfit interesting even without adding color. This vintage faux fur scarf was a Christmas present this year and I really like how it looks with my leather jacket. Plus leather and lace always look good together. Every piece here combined to create my ultimate all-black outfit! Do you ever wear an entirely black outfit? How do you make it interesting? dress: oasap | jacket: ashley by twenty-six international - ross | tights: kmart | boots: boohoo | scarf: charter club - thrifted | glasses: zenni optical This little black lace dress isn't worn nearly enough. I tend to shy away from it in the summer because it has long sleeves and I live in sweltering Georgia. (You can see the pretty lace sleeves in this previous post though!) How sho...

Outfit: Green Lipstick with a Yellow Beret, Black Wool Coat, and Green Skinny Jeans

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a very casual fall outfit to show you. What makes this look different is the yellow beret and the fact that I'm wearing green lipstick. Yes. Green lipstick. This is the Nyx Wicked Lippie in Risque that Jeanie bought me for my birthday. I really enjoy seeing other people rock nontraditional lipstick shades so sometimes I try it out too! Why not? I've been noticing more and more makeup companies introduce "weird" colors into their lines, especially this past year. I'm happy to see affordable cosmetic companies embrace alternative colors. That means they're more easily available for people to test out and wear around. The more people are exposed to makeup they're not used to seeing, the more normal it seems. I actually got compliments on my makeup when I wore this out! "Weird" lipstick is here. It's like we're in the future! But seriously, doesn't it seem very futuristic to be wearing blue or green...

Blue Sweater over a Striped Dress, Red Knit Hat, Fishnet Tights, & Red Moccasins

Image
Happy Monday! Since there was Snowpocalypse 2014 in Atlanta last week, I decided to take advantage of the pretty snowy ground and take some pictures. It's very rare that my back yard has snow and it looks so pretty like that! The snow has already been gone for a couple days now, but here are the pictures I took the day after it snowed. Apparently this dress is my snow dress because I wore it in the snow in December in Illinois too. This time I layered my cropped blue sweater over it, added fishnet-ish tights, and a red hat and shoes. This black wool coat is from way back in the day and I'm surprised it still zips over my boobs. It just barely does! I'm pretty sure it's from 8th grade though, so...I have an excuse. dress: forever 21 | sweater: forever 21 | coat: old navy | tights: kmart? | shoes: minnetonka - delia's | hat: handmade - thrifted | scarf: came with a coat - sam's club Do you guys like my new red knit hat? I think it was $2. I found i...

Striped Dress, Pink Tights, & a Leopard Print Infinity Scarf in the Snow

Image
I figured with all the ridiculously cold weather all over the U.S. these snowy pictures from my Illinois trip were extra appropriate. I look so cold in these pictures because we were hopping around in the snow and the wind was freezing. It was too bright to get great pictures, but I wanted to take some in the snow after a trip to the thrift store. I didn't realize how deep it was and I was out there in ankle boots. Luckily the warm car was waiting when picture time was done. dress: forever 21 | jacket: ross dress for less | tights: kmart | scarf: kohl's | boots: boohoo I figured you'd forgive me for the lesser-quality pictures. Also it's really hard to wear a short flippy dress when it's windy! Every time I wear this dress I feel like my butt is showing, so I guess it wasn't just the wind. It sure is a comfortable dress though. Have a nice middle of your week!

A Jeanie Outfit: Flannel Shirt, Navy Skater Skirt, Mustard Scarf, & Dark Red Tights

Image
Happy Saturday! Here's an outfit Jeanie wore the other day. After I asked her where all the pieces were from I remembered that I bought her the flannel shirt and mustard yellow scarf for Christmas last year. So hooray for presents that are actually being used! I really liked how all the colors in this outfit looked together. The yellow scarf picks up the yellow in the shirt really nicely and those tights are a great dark red. Plus she looks all nice and cozy in the snow! In real life we were cold taking these pictures which is probably evident in the first picture because she's hiding her hands inside her shirt. (And I definitely didn't even realize that until I had these pictures all resized and everything. Oh well!) shirt: target | skirt: forever 21 | boots: modcloth | tights: target | scarf: forever 21 Yay Jeanie! I'm glad she humors me by letting me take her outfit pictures and having her take mine while we're up here visiting. Have a great ...

New Stuff!

Image
You guys. I've acquired way too much new stuff over the past couple of weeks. I think I'm actually going to have to leave some stuff at home when I go back to school. And also I need to not spend any more money. But that's the moral of my story almost all the time. So I figured I'd share my new stuff with you since a lot of it is great thrift finds or bargains and I always love hearing about people's bargain finds. First up: my tiger head dress courtesy of PersunMall which you guys saw yesterday. I think it'll be cool paired with some boots in the fall. Or maybe a colorful cardigan and flats. The 80s dress I found at Savers up in Illinois. It fits me perfectly and I need to wear it asap. New bows! And thrifted scarves! I spent too much on this OCC Lip Tar in Queen but it's so pretty! Clothes thrifted at my favorite thrift store in Illinois. All very inexpensive. I think I paid $24 for the whole lot plus the scarves above, two books,...
