Blue Sweater over a Striped Dress, Red Knit Hat, Fishnet Tights, & Red Moccasins

Happy Monday! Since there was Snowpocalypse 2014 in Atlanta last week, I decided to take advantage of the pretty snowy ground and take some pictures. It's very rare that my back yard has snow and it looks so pretty like that! The snow has already been gone for a couple days now, but here are the pictures I took the day after it snowed. Apparently this dress is my snow dress because I wore it in the snow in December in Illinois too. This time I layered my cropped blue sweater over it, added fishnet-ish tights, and a red hat and shoes. This black wool coat is from way back in the day and I'm surprised it still zips over my boobs. It just barely does! I'm pretty sure it's from 8th grade though, so...I have an excuse.

dress: forever 21 | sweater: forever 21 | coat: old navy | tights: kmart? | shoes: minnetonka - delia's | hat: handmade - thrifted | scarf: came with a coat - sam's club

Do you guys like my new red knit hat? I think it was $2. I found it in a box full of handmade hats in various colors at my favorite thrift store in Illinois. They were all unworn so hooray for no creepy crawlies creepy crawling on the hats.

I had a nice long weekend due to the snow and shutdowns in Atlanta. Now it's back to work! Did you guys have a good weekend? I'm already looking forward to the next one! I may actually get Matt out to see a movie since he has a gift card. Any recommendations? I saw August: Osage County, Frozen, and American Hustle recently. I enjoyed all of them!

Have a great start to your week!

This is a great layered look!! That blue sweater is so perfect with the striped skirt. And I love having old pieces that still work :)

Cute! Love this outfit.

I like digging around in creepy boxes of thrift-store knits. There are so many gems, and they can be washed. (Or, like in your case, I once found a pair of cute gloves, brand new)!

I saw August Osage on the stage, and I'm curious to see how they adapted it. My husband and I really enjoyed Saving Mr. Banks (and we were crazy about Frozen).

Isn't it weird how the snow makes everything look so different? I never got to see what my house looked like all drenched in white since I was on campus, but man, your backyard looks so cOOL! Snow will never cease to amaze. I'm glad you got home safe when the snow got bad--I think that most of the southern states were having panic attacks that day to get home!

Your red hat is beautiful! And yay for coats from 8th grade that can still zip up, wowie!

You are SO INCREDIBLY BRAVE to go out in that snow and take pictures with those flats on! I had on every layer I could find and the thickest boots too hahah. You looked so pretty while I looked absolutely ridiculous!
Hahahah "No creepy crawlies creepy crawling on hats". Too funny and sooo true.
OOOOH I want to see Frozen so bad! I'm hoping once my Amazon Prime kicks in I'll be able to watch it then :).
