Outfit: Gray Wool Coat, Leopard Print Circle Scarf, Maroon Skirt, and Sheer Leopard Tights

Image
I picked up this gray wool blend coat from a Forever 21 sale over the summer because I figured I could use a new coat in a neutral color once it got cold. I had no idea what "boucle" was though. It seemed like some sort of textured wool, which was pretty correct I think. Apparently boucle is an uneven weave formed into loops. If you didn't know that, you learned something new today! Anyway, this coat has been keeping me warm this season with its detachable faux fur collar. I've been pairing it with my gray leopard print circle scarf a lot, which you can see here. For this outfit, I went with some double leopard print. These tights were buried in a bag under my bed for some reason so that's why you haven't seen them in years. They have a hole in them (on the back) but I remembered it being a lot worse so I think they just were forgotten. Luckily the hole isn't bad enough to not wear them! I happily wore them with my maroon skater skirt again and a...

Outfit: Green Lipstick with a Yellow Beret, Black Wool Coat, and Green Skinny Jeans

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Today I have a very casual fall outfit to show you. What makes this look different is the yellow beret and the fact that I'm wearing green lipstick. Yes. Green lipstick. This is the Nyx Wicked Lippie in Risque that Jeanie bought me for my birthday. I really enjoy seeing other people rock nontraditional lipstick shades so sometimes I try it out too! Why not? I've been noticing more and more makeup companies introduce "weird" colors into their lines, especially this past year. I'm happy to see affordable cosmetic companies embrace alternative colors. That means they're more easily available for people to test out and wear around. The more people are exposed to makeup they're not used to seeing, the more normal it seems. I actually got compliments on my makeup when I wore this out! "Weird" lipstick is here. It's like we're in the future! But seriously, doesn't it seem very futuristic to be wearing blue or green...

Red Jeans, Buffalo Plaid Shirt, Blue Peacoat, & Black Studded Loafers

Image
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you like red jeans because I have a pair now and they're glorious! Mom spotted them at Kohl's and I had to buy them because they were on clearance for just under $10. They're Levi's too! Such a deal. They were exactly in my size which was definitely a sign from the denim gods and bargain gods (they often work together). For the first debut of these red Levi's on this blog, I paired them with a black and blue buffalo plaid top I've had for a while. I like that I can wear this top untucked since it actually ends at an appropriate point on my body and not below my crotch. Some people can pull off tunic length things, but it just does not do anything to elongate my body. Plus I did that whole silhouette when it was cool back in high school so I'm good. So the moral of this story is I want more shirts that are this length. I thought this was a really cool looking casual outfit because of the fun mix of color. Plus studded shoes ...

Blue Sweater over a Striped Dress, Red Knit Hat, Fishnet Tights, & Red Moccasins

Happy Monday! Since there was Snowpocalypse 2014 in Atlanta last week, I decided to take advantage of the pretty snowy ground and take some pictures. It's very rare that my back yard has snow and it looks so pretty like that! The snow has already been gone for a couple days now, but here are the pictures I took the day after it snowed. Apparently this dress is my snow dress because I wore it in the snow in December in Illinois too. This time I layered my cropped blue sweater over it, added fishnet-ish tights, and a red hat and shoes. This black wool coat is from way back in the day and I'm surprised it still zips over my boobs. It just barely does! I'm pretty sure it's from 8th grade though, so...I have an excuse. dress: forever 21 | sweater: forever 21 | coat: old navy | tights: kmart? | shoes: minnetonka - delia's | hat: handmade - thrifted | scarf: came with a coat - sam's club Do you guys like my new red knit hat? I think it was $2. I found i...

A Jeanie Holiday Outfit: Vintage Wool Coat, Green Peplum Dress, & Floral Tights

Image
Merry Christmas! Jeanie told me I should title this post "Jeanie Can't Make Normal Faces" but I picked the pictures with her making relatively normal faces except for one. This is the outfit she wore when I wore my leopard print coat and black lace dress. This vintage wool coat was one of our great grandma's too and now my sister gets to wear it! She said it's really warm. Plus it has that cool striped lining on the inside so you can tell it's fancy. Underneath the coat she wore a green peplum dress from Modcloth and some really cool floral tights. We found those shoes at Target for $6 the other day too. They were only left in her size so she had to get them! coat: vintage - great grandma's | dress: modcloth | tights: forever 21 | shoes: target And then we have the picture with her making a face. She said it's a model face so we'll go with that, but I personally think it's leaning more toward Grumpy Cat. I do have ran...

A Thrown Together Favorite

Image
Is it just me or are some of your favorite outfits ones you just throw together in the morning? I had no idea what to wear this day other than that I wanted to wear my plaid shirt. I was wearing just the shirt until the very last minute when I knew I really needed a butt covering if I was to go out in public. Somehow it all came together and this is definitely one of my favorites lately. sweater, shirt: target shorts: forever 21 shoes: old navy hat: h&m belt: old from Mom coat: delia*s  I wish I had worn something as awesome as this today, but I wasn't feeling anything other than jeans. My jeans were soaked through three classes in a row. It's been raining for days and I'm really ready for it to stop. Rainy Mondays are one of the worst things. Especially during winter. I'm going to drink some coffee and thaw out! Happy Monday!

A Year Ago Today: December 21st

Image
It's weird to think that a year ago we were frolicking in the snow and today the high was around 70 degrees. Then again, we were in Illinois last year and we're home in Georgia this year. I still really like the outfit I was wearing that day and even wore a variation of it last week. top: thrifted skirt: forever 21 jacket: thrifted boots: kmart tights: kmart I make a lot of weird faces if you haven't noticed. We had just thrifted a ton of blazers that year before we went up to visit everyone, so the giant blazers were in heavy rotation. Looking at these pictures makes me want to bring them out again. Too bad it's not cool enough for that! I must have been really really excited! The snow was really pretty last year. I don't really need snow to get into the Christmas spirit, just cool weather in general. Unfortunately it's pretty warm outside. All the decorations around the house make it more Christmasy though. ...
