Green Backless Halter Dress with Silver Heels to Attend a St. Patrick's Themed Wedding

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Here's what I wore to my uncle's slightly St. Patrick's Day themed wedding on Saturday. Most of the girls decided to wear green so I broke out this dark green halter dress from deep within my closet. It was my homecoming dress from junior year of high school. I'd really wanted a Marilyn Monroe style dress in green that year so Mom made this one for me. I'm happy it still fits! The only issue while wearing this dress is making sure I don't have a wardrobe malfunction. There's plenty of tape holding the fabric perfectly in place just in case!

dress: handmade by Mom | hair comb: sally's | heels: christian siriano - payless

I made sure to style the dress differently than back in high school. I went with silver pumps and a silver hair comb. I also had a dark purple cardigan in case I got cold but there aren't any pictures of that! This whole outfit just goes to show you should dig around in your closet for formal events. Not every one needs a new dress! If you still fit in it and it's a classic piece you can make it work.

I hope you guys are having a good Monday so far. This week is looking super busy for me. Grad school is the bane of my existence. I have about a billion things to do and comprehensive exams on Friday. I'm not at all prepared for them. There isn't enough time in the day. I honestly just need everyone to leave me alone for the week so I can study, but that's not going to happen. This year just needs to be over.

If I'm absent this week and at various points in the upcoming month, just know it's because of school. I'll be back and consistent again when I get out of there. I'm desperately trying to find time to do my school work on top of my internship so blogging in between isn't easy. But anyway. Have a good week!

Wow, handmade? it's absolutely stunning!!

You look perfect in this, it really suits you. Good job on the tape, that's a must. No one needs sneaky boob shots haha.

The little pop of silver and I think you're on to the perfect formal winner here!

Good luck with all the work, I completely understand the whole work/life/blogging balance!

You focus on school, lady! It's much more important than blogging and (gasp) outfits. But really. Don't worry about us and good luck with the weeks/months ahead! YOU GOT THIS!

Stunning dress. The colour is really gorgeous and it is perfect for you. Suits you 100%. I love the backless design. I really admire the silver shoes. I have been obsessed with my silver heels lately and been wearing them a lot. I had fun dressing up for st patricks day at work.

Your mum is seriously talented. It looks fantastic on you. Really lovely that it still works for you. My body shape is nothing like that of school - I was all thin and straight and now I have boobs and hips! No chance of reworking those clothes.
I am already impressed at the bare back in the snow. I am such a wimp at wearing anything less than jumpers + coat in the winter. :)
