Happy Fourth of July weekend to all of my American readers! I have a wonderful 3 day weekend so I have the day off to spend with Matt. We're headed down to Cumberland island for an overnight trip and then back home for some sort of festivities. I'm looking forward to taking some pretty pictures down by the coast of Georgia. Perhaps I'll share some with you!

Anyway, this outfit is pretty patriotic-looking to me so I figured it was a good one to share for this holiday weekend. I wear a lot of red, white, and blue because I love how those colors pair together. The nautical vibe is perfect for summertime - not that I don't wear nautical-inspired outfits at other times of the year too. This striped shift dress was from the kids' section at Walmart and I had to get it because it was such a comfy basic piece. I paired a red boyfriend cardigan with it and my sparkly gold glitter loafers.

Love your hair color! Is it hard to maintain? I've heard that red is the quickest to fade out. We're not doing anything special this weekend, just staying in and spending time with each other! Hope you have a great weekend!

Man, I was the most unpatriotic fool on the Fourth, haha! I fell asleep early, but my family did cook out, so I suppose that counts for something. I love your nautical fourth look. Navy stripes, heck yes.

Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. Leather Scalloped Skirt, Polka Dots, & Orange Tights

Happy weekend everyone! I just had the most lazy weird Friday ever, so I'm updating later than usual. I basically slept on and off since class got done at noon. I know, I'm pretty exciting. This outfit was fun today though! I wore my leather skirt that we recently DIY scallop hemmed. I may post a little tutorial of sorts on how to do that, but it's pretty self explanatory. I like that the skirt is a little shorter now. It still squeezes my insides right at the waist, but it's more comfortable now that I'm having a few skinny months. Leather just doesn't have any give!
