Kelly Green Sweater, Flannel Shirt, Black Skater Skirt, & Yellow Tights

Image
This outfit is from my trip up to Illinois, hence the snow in the pictures! I almost didn't wear these yellow tights, thinking they might add too much bright color to this outfit, but I went for it. I love the way they look with my green sweater. It's hard for an outfit to be too colorful in my book! This actually may be a new favorite outfit of mine! The colors look so vibrant against the snowy background. Also, my hair-do looks especially nice in these pictures because Mom put it up. There are many perks to having a hairdresser in the family! sweater: ann taylor loft - thrifted | flannel top: xhileration - target | skirt: forever 21 | tights: forever 21 | shoes: boohoo | earrings: charming charlie I hope you're having a great week. It's always kind of depressing after New Year's Eve is over, don't you think? January and February kind of suck as far as months go. Maybe they'll be good this year though. You never know. Happy Friday!

A Jeanie Holiday Outfit: Vintage Wool Coat, Green Peplum Dress, & Floral Tights

Image
Merry Christmas! Jeanie told me I should title this post "Jeanie Can't Make Normal Faces" but I picked the pictures with her making relatively normal faces except for one. This is the outfit she wore when I wore my leopard print coat and black lace dress. This vintage wool coat was one of our great grandma's too and now my sister gets to wear it! She said it's really warm. Plus it has that cool striped lining on the inside so you can tell it's fancy. Underneath the coat she wore a green peplum dress from Modcloth and some really cool floral tights. We found those shoes at Target for $6 the other day too. They were only left in her size so she had to get them! coat: vintage - great grandma's | dress: modcloth | tights: forever 21 | shoes: target And then we have the picture with her making a face. She said it's a model face so we'll go with that, but I personally think it's leaning more toward Grumpy Cat. I do have ran...

Flannel Shirt, Skater Skirt, & a Red Bow on a Bouffant

Image
This skirt is such a crappy color but I try to make it work. Online it looked much more army green than whatever non-color this is. Oh well. It looks fine with my flannel shirt so it's useful! This day I decided to throw my hair up into a messy bouffant and put a big bow on it too. That was probably the best part of this look. This seemed like a very "fall" outfit to me!  shirt: target | skirt: boohoo | tights: forever 21 | boots: thrifted | bow: euberah  I'm on Thanksgiving break right now but it's not very relaxing. I didn't think it would be. I often wonder if I'll ever feel relaxed again in my life. I'll probably feel much more content once this semester is finally over whether or not my plans for spring semester are finalized. I'm sick of worrying though.  I am  doing some fun stuff over the break though, so don't worry. We went to see Catching Fire  yesterday. I really liked it! It was very true to the book. I'm s...

Acid Wash Skinny Jeans, Polka Dot Crop Top, & a Mustard Cardigan

Image
My style can really fluctuate from day to day! Sometimes I want to be super retro and other days I want to be trendy and cool. I know I was scoffing at acid wash jeans in stores a year ago but then I saw these while browsing Boohoo and a light bulb went off. They all of a sudden were super cool to me. I really enjoy a lot of 80s trends so why shouldn't I try this one? They're an especially great pair of jeans because they're acid wash in a modern skinny cut (with a flattering butt area - not mom jeans at all). Needless to say, they're a new favorite now.  This time I paired them with my polka dot crop top (which was a bit too cold even though these pictures were taken in October) and my trusty mustard cardigan. This cardigan is on its last legs though. I definitely got my money's worth but I'm on the lookout for a new one! jeans: boohoo | top: forever 21 | cardigan: target | boots: boohoo | headband: forever 21 It was super windy the d...

Spider-man Shirt, Super Hero Bow, & Polka Dot Shorts

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore a couple weeks ago. Sometimes you just have to wear a Spider-man shirt. Or is that just me? I got this one in the boys' section of Target back in high school and it still gets worn pretty frequently. This time I paired it with some polka dot shorts and a superhero hair bow my cousin bought me for Christmas. The temptation to be matchy when I have a superhero bow and superhero shirt is too strong to resist.  t-shirt: target | shorts: forever 21 | sandals: boohoo | bow: gift Look at me. I'm so strong and pale. Did you guys have a good weekend? I did some school work and went to a beer festival at Terrapin Brewery. I wish the weekend was longer though!

Khaki Shorts with Mixed Prints & Sparkly Loafers

Image
This is how I wear khaki shorts. These used to be my shorts for my alternate marching band uniform but I can also wear them in real life! I was just staring into my closet and I got the magical idea to pair this top and leopard cardigan. The print mixing here is a little different, but the colors were somewhat similar so it worked in my mind. I thrifted this cardigan with the tags still on over the summer. It was kind of too hot to wear it, but oh well. I dealt with it. Also sparkly loafers. Those ankle cushion things really do work to make shoes comfortable! I have so many pairs that rub the back of my ankle. Probably because they're all cheap. I got the Dr. Scholl's stick-on cushion things and I swear it was like silky magic. I could finally walk in these shoes without pain! cardigan: merona - thrifted | top: forever 21 | shorts: forever 21 | loafers: xhileration - target You get a jumpy picture today. Just so you can see how the clothes move. When jumping....

Double Navy & Red Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! Here's a relatively simple outfit I wore to class the other day. For some reason I really wanted to wear a navy blue top with my blue shorts. Double navy! I tried my sail boat top at first and something about the two shades of blue just wasn't working, so out came my striped t-shirt. This was a very comfy outfit. I think these red shoes kind of make the outfit though. Plus they're a little big around the ankle so there was no rubbing on my scratched-up ankles! Hooray comfort. shorts: forever 21 | top: forever 21 | shoes: cherokee - target | belt: thrifted nails: o.p.i - the living daylights & china glaze - budding romance Thank you to Matt for taking my pictures this day. He's learning well! I hope you guys are having a good week. Mine has been busy and I'm very sleepy. I keep getting very little sleep due to all the work I can't catch up on. Maybe this weekend I can catch up. I doubt it though. Have a g...

Tie Dye with Polka Dots

Image
I've gotten so much use out of this polka dotted kids' skirt. I've only had it a few months, but it seems to go with so many different tops! It also helps that it was really inexpensive. I think it was something around $7 on clearance? Good times. This time I paired it with a clearance tie-dye shirt I got from Target a while back. I've worn this shirt more often this year than the year I bought it! I've just really been liking my sleeveless tops like this lately. Sorry I look kind of weirdly tired in these pictures. They were taken after a long day of class and making dinner and life. skirt: target | top: merona - target | sandals: solanze - shoe carnival | bracelet: jigsaw london The writing on my hand is room numbers. Who has time to look for a piece of paper or remember what room to look for? Not this girl. I hope you have a good start to your week. I just hope I survive class today. Though that's always what I hope for.  Happy Monda...

A Kids' Bow Dress, Pink Sandals, and Cat Eye Sunglasses

Image
This is the kind of outfit you're most likely to see me sporting around campus this time of year. Especially when I don't have time to think about an elaborately put-together outfit! You really can't go wrong with a comfy dress and flats. This dress is the one I recently found in the kids' section at Target (for $17). You can see Jeanie's deer print version in this post . I really love the cute little bow print on this one. It'll go with all kinds of different tights when the weather cools down too. I'm pretty pumped about it! dress: cherokee - target | sandals: ross dress for less? | bracelet: gift | sunglasses: dollar tree | earrings: forever 21 Here's a nice picture where Matt made me look like a giant! Pretty glorious isn't it? Oh and did I mention this dress has a cute little cutout in the back. Breezy, yet covers the bra zone! I've already started to wish it was fall and broke out a pumpkin beer last week. In Aug...

A Jeanie Outfit: Deer Print Dress, Wayfarers, & Clog Sandals

Image
Happy Monday everyone! Here's an outfit Jeanie wore the other day. We both bought this same dress in different patterns in the Target kids' section the other day. Hers has little happy deer all over it. This outfit is almost entirely from the kids' department at Target though. Which means either adults are wearing adult-looking outfits or we're wearing childish outfits. I like to assume it's the first situation. Either way, this outfit is da bomb. And you'll be seeing my black bow print version of this dress sometime soon, I'm sure. dress: cherokee - target | shoes: cherokee- target | necklace: forever 21 | sunglasses: dollar tree Little happy deer closeup time: I hope you had a jolly weekend. I've been super busy visiting people and whatnot. It's been good but I usually feel ready to come home by the end of our trip. I won't have too much time to relax before getting back to the grad school grind so I'm looking forward to do...
