Outfit: High Waisted Suspender Pants with a Striped Shirt and Silver Oxfords

These suspender pants are ridiculous. I know that. That didn't keep me from thrifting them (with tags still on) and attempting with all my might to make them work. They're one of the first things I ever thrifted so they hold a special place in my style heart. However they're not the most flattering things so they don't get worn much.  Sometimes an outfit doesn't have to be flattering. Sometimes it can just be fun. That's why I decided it was time to break out my suspender pants again!

This time I went with a neutral color palette and relied on the shades of gray to keep the nuttiness of these pants in check. I had to add just a touch of color with my lipstick and hair bow though. My striped top worked with the small, almost unnoticeable houndstooth print in the pants. The whole thing came off as very Mork-esque. These pants are ridiculously comfortable though, so it was a great outfit for lounging around the house.

pants: thrifted | top: forever 21 | shoes: sam & libby - target | sunglasses: papaya | hair bow: handmade | necklace: great grandma collection

Can we talk about suspenders and boobs for a second? Just how? Are they supposed to go over the boob area or where they naturally migrate to, on the outside of the boob area? Are there even answers to these questions?

Do any of you have pieces in your wardrobe that aren't the most flattering but you still enjoy wearing? I think there's a time and place for these items! How would you style a pair of crazy high waisted suspender pants like these?

In other news, I had a nice weekend. Lots of job hunting and hanging with Matt. I got my Christmas present wrapping done and out of the way too! All in all, a good weekend. Let's hope this week is nice and productive too! Have a fantastic start to your week!

I have longed for an answer to the suspender/braces question for so long! My chest insists on pushing them to the side, but I'm forever tugging them back because I feel like they should be laying neatly on top! Yet I didn't even really think about that when I looked at your photos, so maybe this is an issue that seems much bigger in our own heads?! I think this actually is quite a flattering look though - it all fits you well and doesn't make you out of proportion or anything. You're rocking it!

Couldn't agree more! Fashion is for fun, not to try to please other people. I absolutely love these pants, they're so quirky and suit your crazy temperament quite well ^_^

PS) I haven't commented in ages, but I'm getting back in the ZONE now. I APOLOGIZE BUT I ADORE YOU OK BYE

Just came across your blog. You rock these high-waisted herringbone pants with braces! The braces elongate your chest and make you look taller. The high waistline also smooths out any bumps around the midsection. So don't think these are unflattering, they're actually very stylish and look very comfortable. Enjoy wearing braces!

I know about those thrift finds that don't get worn but you had to have! I have a couple! The kind that are great for a photoshoot but not feel like wearing it all day. Still, I love to be different so I sometimes do. Love this pants! They look so great for fall!
