Outfit: Green Corduroy Skirt, Leopard Top, and Heart Tights

Image
If you're looking at these pictures and going, "hey those look almost a year old!" then you would be correct! For whatever reason this outfit from December never ended up on the blog (but a similar look did back in March .) My hair is almost this color again right now though! Full circle. I wanted it very similar to this color and length for my wedding in November so I'm glad. I wish it was cold enough outside to wear tights, corduroy, and my leather jacket like it was in these pictures, but instead it's humid and rainy here in Georgia since it's still August. And so it shall remain until November. I really do like this combination of the dark green skirt with leopard print and tiny, almost-dots heart print. What do you think?  These pictures were taken in Illinois while cleaning out my Great Grandma's house. My sister and I were hanging around while our dad and grandpa were picking up some stuff.  Unfortunately I don't have anythin...

Work Outfit: Purple Skater Skirt and Leopard Print Flats

Image
Long time no blog! I didn't realize it had been so long but life has been busy, including my weekends with Dragon Con last week and working on a new hairdo this weekend - more on that later. So it's definitely time to show you a new outfit and what better than to show you some new shoes?  These leopard print flats are from Target and you may still be able to find them. They also come in black. I love that they zip up the back so I don't have to fasten three buckles and so far they're really comfy. Definitely contenders in my "what shoes do I bring to Europe?" quandary. They go with pretty much everything too. This time I paired them with a new purple skater skirt from Boohoo. I enjoy wearing all colors, but don't have nearly enough purple in my wardrobe so I thought it was a good addition. Plus it's long enough to be work appropriate. The black top is very old from Forever 21. Like early college old. I still like it. top: forever 21 | sk...

Outfit Inspired by Debbie Harry: White Jeans, Striped Crop Top, and Leather Jacket

Image
I was very excited when Boohoo reached out to me to create an outfit inspired by a style icon of my choice for their #TBT campaign. There are so many people I draw inspiration from but one of my favorites right now is Debbie Harry of the new wave band, Blondie. She continues to make bold fashion choices to this day but her late 70s/early 80s look is my favorite. Though I don't have her signature blonde hair, I can still try to emulate her super cool style.  top , jeans , & sunglasses : c/o boohoo | jacket: ashley by twenty-six international - ross | shoes: y not? - shoe carnival I didn't see a photo of Debbie Harry wearing an outfit exactly like this, but I saw a lot of leather jackets, high-waisted denim, stripes, and sleeveless tops in this general shape. She liked to mix things up. You can get a feel for her varied style in a Pinterest search (some NSFW pictures though). Boohoo sent me the striped top you see here, the white jeans, and the wayfarer sungla...

Red Velvet Skirt, Checkerboard Top, Heart Tights, & Red Moccasins

Image
This velvet skater skirt screams festive winter holiday times to me. It's still winter so it's still appropriate right? I just really like the texture velvet adds to an outfit.  I paired it with my checkerboard top, some heart print sweater tights, and my new red Minnetonka moccasins. Jeanie bought me these moccasins for Christmas and I love them. They're so bright and comfortable! Actually this entire outfit was pretty comfy. Velvet and sweater tights are both nice and warm!  top: boohoo | cardigan: so... - kohl's | skirt: romwe | tights: forever 21 | moccasins: minnetonka - delia's Obviously this is another outfit from when I was in Illinois. I have some outfits backlogged from that trip. The pictures are so nice and wintry though. I hope you guys have a good weekend! Happy Friday!

Kelly Green Sweater, Flannel Shirt, Black Skater Skirt, & Yellow Tights

Image
This outfit is from my trip up to Illinois, hence the snow in the pictures! I almost didn't wear these yellow tights, thinking they might add too much bright color to this outfit, but I went for it. I love the way they look with my green sweater. It's hard for an outfit to be too colorful in my book! This actually may be a new favorite outfit of mine! The colors look so vibrant against the snowy background. Also, my hair-do looks especially nice in these pictures because Mom put it up. There are many perks to having a hairdresser in the family! sweater: ann taylor loft - thrifted | flannel top: xhileration - target | skirt: forever 21 | tights: forever 21 | shoes: boohoo | earrings: charming charlie I hope you're having a great week. It's always kind of depressing after New Year's Eve is over, don't you think? January and February kind of suck as far as months go. Maybe they'll be good this year though. You never know. Happy Friday!

Pink Bow Sweater, Acid Wash Jeans, & Studded Loafers

Image
Happy Monday everyone! This is a pretty casual outfit I wore because I had to pack some things in my car. Plus I wanted to get some wear out of these acid wash jeans I just had to have. I still think they're cool and I don't care who knows it! This time I paired them with my pink bow sweater and some black studded loafers.  (And thank you to Matt for quickly snapping these for me before I left!) sweater: elle - kohl's | jeans: boohoo | loafers: xappeal - rack room shoes Did you guys have a nice weekend? I'm spending time visiting family right now, so it's not exactly a restful break so far, but that's okay. I'm still having fun and it's great to not be in school. I've been doing crossword puzzles, catching up on my backlog of blogs I read, thrifting, and trying to reach my Goodreads yearly book goal. Nerdy times you guys. I love it.  Have a great beginning of your week!

Black Lace Dress, Neon Blue Tights, Houndstooth Flats, & a Spiky Headband

Image
Happy Friday everyone! Here's an outfit I wore yesterday while running errands and going to the movies to see Frozen (which was great) .  This is a new dress I got from Oasap with some credits. I figured I could style a black lace dress in a ton of different ways. The sheer lace sleeves on this dress are my favorite. The lace actually feels sturdy, not like it'll rip at any moment. It's just a really cute dress. I may even wear it for Christmas! How would you style it for holiday times? I'd love to get some ideas from you! dress: c/o oasap | tights: target kids' section | shoes: boohoo | headband: forever 21 | belt: thrifted I can't believe it's already Friday. I'm done with my Christmas shopping after yesterday so it feels good to have that checked off my list. I actually enjoy Christmas shopping though. I have packing to do for our trip up north and Matt and I will be exchanging presents today. Actually my family opens essentia...

Cat Print Shirt with a Purple Velvet Skirt

Image
Happy Wednesday everyone! I wore this outfit a couple weeks back. I really liked the way these colors looked together. It's amazing how many colors pair well with maroon/burgundy shades. This time my cat print shirt was paired with my trusty purple velvet mini skirt. I've had this skirt for years now and it always ends up being styled up once the weather cools down.  top, skirt: forever 21 | tights: boohoo | shoes: xhileration - target | necklace: vintage from great grandma It really is a happy Wednesday today because I'm done with this semester! Hooray for getting a break! I'm ready for holiday times too. It should be a good next couple of weeks. I'm really looking forward to it and I hope it doesn't fly by too quickly. Have a great middle of your week!

Checkerboard Print Top, Pleated Skirt, & Pink Tights

Image
These pictures are from about month ago. Oops. I'm so behind on everything right now. I shouldn't even be putting this post together, but here I am. Anyway, I suppose I'll talk about this outfit. I always enjoy a black and white outfit paired with some brightly-colored tights. This time I went ahead and wore a pair of pink tights because I figured they'd look really cool with my new houndstooth flats.  top: boohoo | skirt: thrifted | tights: kmart | shoes: boohoo | jacket: ross dress for less I'll finally be done with this semester around 6pm today. You'll know when I write a celebratory tweet and start commenting on all of your blogs again! I'll probably need a good nap and a drink too. It'll be glorious. However right now I need to get back to studying and maybe get a few hours of sleep.  Have a happy Monday!
