New Striped Dress, Plaid Bow, & Red Sunglasses

This striped skater dress is a new purchase. I ordered it with my Star Trek shirt and I can already tell it's going to get a lot of use. I wore it to class the day of these pictures and then wore it again as a UGA spirit outfit last Saturday. Think of all the fun tights I can wear with it when it gets colder too! 

What do you think? How would you style this dress? I'm sure there are a ton of ways to remix it, but my creative brain juices are exhausted.

I'm not really sure what's going on with my hair in these pictures. Maybe humidity? I can't remember. They're from a week or so ago.




It's been too long since I posted an outfit! I slacked on my blogging schedule on Monday because I had way too much stuff to do. Usually I can sneak in 20 minutes to write a post, but not this past week. I wish I had more to say right now, but school is consuming my entire being. I've still had no responses on the internship search either. Until I have that locked down my life will be absolute constant stress. I don't want to feel bad about myself, but I can't even get an internship (even unpaid) and I'm almost done with a master's degree! This is my life.

Thank you for your positive comments though! You guys always cheer me on and I really appreciate it. 

I'm trying to appreciate the small positive points in my days in order to stay sane. For example, I went out and got pasta with Matt on Monday. (However their prices went up so there's a slight damper on that treat...) Yesterday I drank a gigantic Spider-man mug full of coffee and took a much-needed hour nap.

I love your stripe dress, you could style it in so many different ways. The first thing that comes to mind is red/nautical. Also you could style it with floral accessories since pattern mixing is such a cool look. Or you could pair it with pretty much any coloured shoes and belt. I absolutely adore your little tartan hair bow. I need one. Wishing you the best with school and internships. I know what it is like and how competitive and stressful it can be.

Dude, I know what you mean--I've been so so ridiculously busy this week! I feel like I've been slacking on comments, btu I can tell that everyone else has been, too, so I don't feel nearly as bad. I love that dress on you. Work hard!!

Oh yes. The internship search! I remember my slight panick attacks every time I got a "no". I really hated it, as I felt like a lot of organisations I contacted didn't believe a student could handle their jobs eventhough they don't always know what capacities we have. I got turned down a lot, and was really grateful when my school decided to create some sort of database with companies and organisations that were looking for interns in the area I lived. Needless to say all my internships were unpaid, but I always found one right on time and loved the jobs / environments I got to experience. I wish you good luck with the hunt, soon one will bite!

As for the outfit, you look so sweet in this striped dress. I used to wear my striped dress with any one of my colored tights and a neutral cardigan. Or with neutral tights and a colorful cardigan, haha.

That dress is adorable! I'm sure that you will wear it a lot in the fall. I can kind of see it with a polka dot skirt - got to love mixing patterns! I know how you feel about losing the creative edge - school can really suck it out of you, huh? Just remember, it will be worth it in the end!

Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. Leather Scalloped Skirt, Polka Dots, & Orange Tights

Happy weekend everyone! I just had the most lazy weird Friday ever, so I'm updating later than usual. I basically slept on and off since class got done at noon. I know, I'm pretty exciting. This outfit was fun today though! I wore my leather skirt that we recently DIY scallop hemmed. I may post a little tutorial of sorts on how to do that, but it's pretty self explanatory. I like that the skirt is a little shorter now. It still squeezes my insides right at the waist, but it's more comfortable now that I'm having a few skinny months. Leather just doesn't have any give!
