Remix: Black Ruffled Lace Skirt

It's time for another remix post! I've had this lace ruffled skirt from Forever 21 for ages now. I think I bought it in 2010 and it's still going strong! It's a little short but it's still acceptable with tights and during those hot summer months. Plus I like my legs, so I'll wear short skirts as long as I'm young enough not to get strange looks. I just have to be diligent not to let my butt show because the general public doesn't need to see that.

Anyway, here are some ways I've worn this skirt over the years. As you can see, it works for all seasons! It's amazing how versatile a ruffled skirt can be. (Since I've had this skirt longer than my blog, some of the links lead to my old old Chictopia posts instead. I hope you don't mind!)

If you guys saw my Instagram post yesterday you probably saw that it snowed here in Georgia. Almost everything is shut down today so I get a day off! I guess that's the perk of living in a state that doesn't know how to salt roads before it snows. My drive home yesterday was ridiculously slow and I left at 1:15pm because there was a mass exodus out of Atlanta. If I'd had left an hour later I probably would've been stuck in the Atlanta gridlock for many many hours. The roads weren't even bad when I left though! It was just wet but the people all lose their minds when it snows. I saw multiple cars on the side of the road that somehow managed to spin out on imaginary ice while going 2mph. I was glad to get home simply to get away from the idiot drivers.

But that's my story. Happy snow day and happy Wednesday!

Oh la la... so many outfits from this fun skirt! It goes to show how a little texture can go a long way!I love it with that vertically striped top!

My dad had a 7.5 hour trip getting home last night (usually takes him an hour) and only was able to get home because of his 4WD. Others were literally leaving their cars on the sides of roads. It was ridiculous! They even passed a declaration today in the city of Tuscaloosa that non-government motor vehicles on public streets are illegal. Eeep! It's gettin' real. Enjoy your snow day, love!

I saw that and it is CRAZY! In Colorado, schools and businesses are often not canceled until there is at least a foot or more of snow. LOL I love this skirt and all of the ways you remixed it! My fave is with the "Pow" top! Remix posts are my favorite!

Lovely round up of your outfits, I particularly like number 1 and 6.
I saw your post about the crazyness, snow makes people do stupid things sometimes. Glad you managed to get home though!

I see you have some favourite poses too! haha.

Woah, it's so cool to see how your style has evolved over the years! I can't believe how long you've had this skirt for. It's still so cute!

And hope you're staying safe in Georgia! I can't believe how much chaos occurred because of the snow!

Wow! I think it's absolutely amazing that you've managed to wear that skirt in so many ways (and all the looks are quite different from each other, I might add!)

I love #13 :)

I LOVE your ultra-feminine Forever 21 black lace tiered ruffled skirt!!! Short skirts are very much in vogue right now and every one of the outfits you styled with it looks fabulous! The different hosiery or socks you choose make a big difference in the look. I like the cap sleeve top you wore in the outfit in photo number 10. I can easily picture a beautiful skirt like that being a part of many more lovely outfits in the future!
