Black Floral Top, Maroon Skater Skirt, & Studded Loafers

An outfit post on Thursday? Yes. I was way too tired Tuesday night to schedule a post for Wednesday, so here we are on Thursday. 

This maroon skater skirt from H&M has to be one of the most worn items in my wardrobe. It looks good with just about everything and the shape is perfect. If I had one in every color I'd be happy. Or even just one other color would be great. It's delightfully short too which can be a problem when it's windy. For example, I wore this while buying things for my mom's birthday party. I didn't realize it was supposed to be super windy that day and came out of the store with 3 bags and a big balloon along with my purse. It's kind of impossible to hold a skirt down while trying keep a balloon from flying away while holding other things unless you have an extra arm. This was one of those days when I really did need another arm so if you saw my butt in the parking lot that day, I'm sorry and you're welcome.

In other news, the end of my last semester ever of school is nearing (assuming everything works out as it's supposed to). My internship at the Aquarium ends next week and my paper deadlines are looming over me. I didn't tell you guys the long and annoying story of how my school screwed me over in this last semester, but since it's caused me so much strife (mostly mentally) I may have to share it. Not until I get my degree though. Or this summer if it turns out I can't graduate. I'm filled with rage about the situation since I am at no fault and am essentially being punished for their mistakes. But we'll talk about this more later.

Right now I have to continue researching then perhaps if I do enough I can reward myself with Del Taco. Rewarding yourself with food is obviously the most healthy way to motivate yourself. The more you know.

Food rewards are definitely the way to go :) I'm curious about the long and annoying story! Once you've graduated & have more time, it might be possible to sew a replica of that skirt.

The skirt is an amazing colour and it must be a very versatile piece. I feel the same about a skirt I have which is similar to yours but in green. I love the way it picks up the red in your top. I don't know what you are going through with school but it sounds terrible, definitely hope it's ok for you.

Short skirts and windy days are two things that don't just match up BUT THAT SHOULDN'T STOP YA!!! wahahaha. I love the color of that skirt.

Maroon is a great colour to wear. I have a maroon flippy dress from Topshop which is my go to dress when I want casual and lazy haha. I need to invest in a maroon skater skirt (and a black one) to go with my dress and maroon jeans too ;)

I'm a big fan of what I call "pajama dresses," which are really just jersey knit skater dresses . They're comfortable enough to sleep in, yet can look 100% put-together if styled nicely. Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. Don't Dream It

...be it! I love a good performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. We went to see the live shadow cast Lips Down on Dixie perform at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta. It was awesome, as always! This is Jeanie and her friend Leslie before they got their lipstick Rocky virgin V's on their foreheads. Leslie even got the honor of holding the criminologist's book during a part of the show. Pretty ballin'. Butt shot! Yes, those are heels I have on with leopard print pajamas. It was a take on Columbia in the touch-a touch me scene. The real pj's are stripes, but this is what I had! I did have the mickey ears and crazy makeup though, so it counts. [How fun would it be to wear one of those costumes for Halloween?] I always enjoy this show.
