There's something I look forward to styling each fall: tights and shorts. Tights and shorts are kind of a perfect combination for Georgia's extremely mild fall weather. Plus you get the added bonus of wearing fun patterns and colors on your legs while still showing off your legs. I know these are plain black tights here, but you understand. 

I wanted to go for the black and brown color scheme here too. It's something I really enjoy when others pull it off. Neutrals paired together can look so nice and modern, so I paired my brown corduroy shorts with some black tights, a black floral top, and black leather jacket. The mix of texture and pattern makes it work, along with not combining too many different shades of brown in this one outfit.

Tell me about your weekend plans! I don't really have anything coming up so it should be a relaxing weekend, I hope. Yesterday I went to see The Garden Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for a work event so that kicked off the holiday season. It seems a little early for that still but I guess Thanksgiving is less than a week away now. At least I'm almost done with Christmas shopping so I can really enjoy the rest of the season. I just always get sad when everything's over but I guess it'a s little premature to be thinking about that when Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet!

I love brown and black together! What a cute outfit. I don't often wear shorts unless it's hot and the weekend. I think I'm old enough that I feel weird about wearing them to work. I did recently buy some cute ones on clearance at Loft though, so maybe that will change. I do plan to shorten them by a few inches though! Haha. So maybe I'm not so old after all. :D

I love tights and shorts! That's combo I used to wear a lot more of - I just don't have as many shorts as I used to so it's harder for me to pull together now.

Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. Leather Scalloped Skirt, Polka Dots, & Orange Tights

Happy weekend everyone! I just had the most lazy weird Friday ever, so I'm updating later than usual. I basically slept on and off since class got done at noon. I know, I'm pretty exciting. This outfit was fun today though! I wore my leather skirt that we recently DIY scallop hemmed. I may post a little tutorial of sorts on how to do that, but it's pretty self explanatory. I like that the skirt is a little shorter now. It still squeezes my insides right at the waist, but it's more comfortable now that I'm having a few skinny months. Leather just doesn't have any give!
