Colorful Polka Dots & a Red Velvet Skirt

Happy Friday everyone! I wore this fairly festive outfit yesterday for Giftmas number one. (Giftmas is pre-Christmas gift opening, traditionally held before going out of town.)

I actually wore this thrifted Christian Dior polka dot top on Christmas two years ago, so I guess that's why it feels festive to me. I paired it with a red velvet skirt, which is definitely perfect for holiday times.

Outfits like this make me remember why I loved all my thrifted button-down shirts I used to wear constantly. They were in storage for so much of this year, I forgot! They really are wonderful. 
Also, my shirt is a wrinkled mess, but oh well.



Matt did a pretty fantastic job picking out presents for me. All I asked for was my camera flash and I figured that was enough of a present, but he also got me a pretty cameo necklace and a puzzle-a-day calendar. He knows me so well! It was a merry first giftmas of the year. Today will be giftmas number 2 so I'm pretty excited to open presents after dinner tonight. That's the nice thing about going out of town. We get to open stuff early here and then open the few things we get up north, so everything is spread out over weeks!

A thrifted Dior blouse sounds good to me, sounds wonderful even (and looks it!). ALso I can't go past that gorgeous vibrant red skirt. :D

I must say - your smile is so contagious, miss Jamie! Also, "giftmas" sounds fun... maybe some year I'll convince my family to try it that way?

Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. ...be it! I love a good performance of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. We went to see the live shadow cast Lips Down on Dixie perform at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta. It was awesome, as always! This is Jeanie and her friend Leslie before they got their lipstick Rocky virgin V's on their foreheads. Leslie even got the honor of holding the criminologist's book during a part of the show. Pretty ballin'. Butt shot! Yes, those are heels I have on with leopard print pajamas. It was a take on Columbia in the touch-a touch me scene. The real pj's are stripes, but this is what I had! I did have the mickey ears and crazy makeup though, so it counts. [How fun would it be to wear one of those costumes for Halloween?] I always enjoy this show.
