Checkerboard Print Top, Pink Tights, & a Bouffant

I wore this outfit downtown on Saturday. I wore my silk checkerboard print top I thrifted a couple years back underneath my little black dress. I'm convinced every blouse looks good layered underneath it! Especially crazy prints like this! The bouffant was a necessary addition too, I think. They kind of make every outfit better.

I allowed myself a break from school stuff since I'd never been downtown for the Twilight bike race before! Matt and I caught some of the race and had a couple drinks. This certainly wasn't what everyone else was wearing downtown, but I'm not into being cold and looking like everyone else. Seriously, do these girls ever check the weather? They were all in shorts and bodycon dresses in 50 something degree weather. Dumb.

Hahaha! I love how straightforward you are. "Dumb." Yeah, I often wonder if people ever check the weather, especially considering how much they complain about it. ;)

Gosh, I love this outfit. Your checkerboard top is INCREDIBLE and I love those pink tights. Pretty, pretty lady!

Absolutely stunning Jamie. I am really starting to love checker board print at the moment, I am desperate to own some myself. It looks perfect with that dress and red tights. Every time I see this hairstyle I so wish I knew how to do it.

Twilight bike race? Sounds neat. Athens always has interesting things. I never get when girls wear really short, tiny things on cold days. I loed watching sorority girls on their way to frat parties on campus in December. SO FUNNY. Anyhow, your dress is adorable - I love that it ties in the back!

Your bouffant!!! It's so cute. And the checkerboard pattern is fun for a race.

I didn't end up going downtown for the races this year -- I had a bad allergy attack and slept in. Also I knew the weather would be so-so and I didn't feel too bad. Hope you had fun!

Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. Leather Scalloped Skirt, Polka Dots, & Orange Tights

Happy weekend everyone! I just had the most lazy weird Friday ever, so I'm updating later than usual. I basically slept on and off since class got done at noon. I know, I'm pretty exciting. This outfit was fun today though! I wore my leather skirt that we recently DIY scallop hemmed. I may post a little tutorial of sorts on how to do that, but it's pretty self explanatory. I like that the skirt is a little shorter now. It still squeezes my insides right at the waist, but it's more comfortable now that I'm having a few skinny months. Leather just doesn't have any give!
