Outfit: Vintage 70s Button Down and Black Zippered Mini Skirt

There are pieces in my wardrobe that have been with me way longer than I thought. I guess in my mind college isn't that far away. Then I actually count the years since I thrifted this 70s pointy collar button down. (Hint: It was at least 7 or 8 years ago. Yikes.) Even if it sits in my closet a lot, it makes an appearance ever so often - usually paired with red, blue, or black - to make my day better with its bold, but not too crazy, print and fabulous ultra wide pointy collar. 

This time I paired my much-loved button down with a black denim mini skirt, fleece-lined tights, and a pair of black lace-up oxford heels. Usually this shirt gets paired with some sort of solid skirt since it's so bold. Even if it's somewhat similar to past looks, it's almost like my outfits in general are a little different-looking when I'm blonde! The platinum blonde gives everything a little ice princess vibe. Especially when there's actually ice and snow on the ground.

These pictures were taken a little bit ago when we got some very unexpected snow here in Atlanta. I knew I had to take advantage of the snow and get some pictures with it! I included a picture of my doggo Riker here too because he's cute and also very stylish in his red dog coat, don't you think? 

Also, I wanted to wish you all a very happy New Year! Can you believe it's 2018?  The years fly by. 2017 was kind of a shit show for the world, but in general very good for me. Lots of travel, moving into our new place, friends, family, and getting married. I wish you a fantastic year ahead!

you guys in the US stole all of this winter's snow! It's unfair!

But I love your new hair and I love this blouse, especially the pointy collar, I would layer it with some colorful sweater definitely <3

That colourful long-sleeved top looks great styled with the black zippered H+M mini-skirt! I'm glad it was warm enough to take outfit photos tjhere despite having snow on the ground there in Atlanta. It was 8 degrees at 9 AM where I live (Long Island, New York). We got a foot of snow here and it might snow a little bit more tomorrow.

Botanical Fun

These pictures are from my outing to The State Botanical Garden of Georgia, which just so happens to be conveniently located about 8 minutes from my apartment. There were still a nice amount of flowers blooming so it was really pretty. I decided I needed to get more wears out of my pretty Steal the Game Show dress from Modcloth so I took some inspiration from other bloggers and wore it as a skirt! I actually really liked how this outfit turned out. Leather Scalloped Skirt, Polka Dots, & Orange Tights

Happy weekend everyone! I just had the most lazy weird Friday ever, so I'm updating later than usual. I basically slept on and off since class got done at noon. I know, I'm pretty exciting. This outfit was fun today though! I wore my leather skirt that we recently DIY scallop hemmed. I may post a little tutorial of sorts on how to do that, but it's pretty self explanatory. I like that the skirt is a little shorter now. It still squeezes my insides right at the waist, but it's more comfortable now that I'm having a few skinny months. Leather just doesn't have any give!
